Singaporeans' Mandate

Yes, the 2006 General Election is finally over after a week of intense rallying. Once again, my prediction was correct. The turnout from the rally does not reflect on the votes casted at the polling station. In short, Singaporeans only know to complain but wont do anything. Wayang, like wat Mr Gomez did, yes, he is a Singaporean too.

PAP returned to power with a margin of 66.6% votes. Quite impressive, although a fall from 75% from the last GE. Workers Party fare quite well, with 16%. SDA also not bad with 13%. The strongest opposition, if according to the result is Workers' Party. In hotly contested Aljunied GRC, PAP won slightly over 56%. So, it's true that opposition voice over there is pretty strong.

As for the others, i got nothing to say. Complacent with wat PAP has to offer. It's PM Lee first general election after all. Quite a good battle. He got the mandate, so deliver your promise and we hope to see a better Singapore in the next 15 to 20 years time. Hopefully more job opportunities and lower employment.

It's finally over. And i am so happy. Came back from Dbl O. Crowd was not bad despite on an election night. I guess youngsters are not so concern. Anyway, looking forward to my upcoming trip in June. Cant wait to fly out of this "democratic" country. I need a good break. Time to see wat democracy is. hahaha... It's USA mah. Ooh... Counting down now....
