Where is the Crown?

Relaz relaz at home today. Spent some quality time in the gym this afternoon. Before that, went for my dental appointment. Haiz.... It's almost 2 months but my crowning still not done yet. Something's wrong with my root canal. The dentist first filled it up then discovered something unusual and decide to remove and do it all over again.

Till now, i have taken more than five x-rays on my tooth. I wonder how many cells were dead . She said my root canal will be done by next week. I hope so. Thankfully, no extra charges. If not, wow lau... Few thousand dollars have been spent on my mouth. Dun really want to spent more.

First was bracing. My rabbit teeth were so prominent during my childhood years. Yes, the "Big Teeth" boy or bugs bunny have grown up. Teeth corrected plus extracted. Then comes the stupid discoloured tooth. If it was at the back of my mouth, i would not have cared. Too bad, it was rite at the front. Damn. Have to do something. Looks very strange with a discoloured tooth in front. Maybe i am vain. But i cannot stand it. Hope to put on the crown soon and makes me look better.

Sun Burning

My body is radiating heat after a fulfilling tan this afternoon. Swam 12 laps in the cool water before leaving. Fantastic!!! Few babes appeared at the pool. Quite daring to wear bikini but i guess they have the physiques. so no harm rite. Good for guys lar... But the gays there must have felt disgusted...ha...

Despite the heat, i stayed a while. Felt like a crab now. Ha... Red hot chilli type. K lar, then went out wif jun later. Whoo hoo... Esplanade was nice. Chill out there, gossip some stuff and relaz relaz.... There was this Makan Sutra Glutton Bay next to DXO. Think i have not been to the place for some time.

Makan Sutra Glutton Bay is an open air hawker concept, similar to Glutton Square in Orchard. The difference is Glutton Bay should be more of a permanent type. Sell hawker food, fried Kway Tiao, BBQ Chicken Wings, BBQ Seafood. Yum Yum! But whether the food taste better, well, that is for us to find out. Of course, price is dearer. I think patrons will prefer to walk across the street to LOFT at Marina Square . Also nice views with good food and air con... Singaporeans... oh well.....

SNAG vs METROSEXUAL

I was in bed almost time to turn in when i saw an old serial going on Channel 8. Yes, SNAG (Sensitive New Age Guy) or Xin Hao Nan Ren. Wow, that was a 4-5 year old show. It stars Wong Hei, Jeff Wang, Jason Oh, Mavis Hee, Samantha Toh and Casandra Susan See. When i woke up this morning , I flipped thru my album of collection and found the soundtrack. Yes, and it was a Wong Hei's autograph album.

I still remembered during the time when the show went on air in late 1999 . Then i was still a NS boy with lots of ambitions. Truthfully, i aspire to be a SNAG one day. Well, to lead a lifestyle of SNAG was cool. Having a little condo by yourself, with ur bed next to a window where it overlooks the beautiful skyline of Singapore. A simple deco will do to make it cosy.

You will wake up early in the morning in executive wear for work. Then meet up your friends at pub after work to gossip little things in life. How nice.... Of course, it will even be better if you have ur partner with you. SNAG is no longer "in" now. The more common term is METROSEXUAL.

Am i one? I wont say i am not. I work hard and play hard. I dun wear executive clothing to work. I dun hang ard Raffles Place area. I dun own a little condo by myself. BUT somehow, i do enjoy my work and my free time. I chilled out at clubs and gym. I meet my friends and love one over lunch and dinner. We gossip, anything and everything. Sometime, i listen to soothing music in my little room, reminiscing good old time. I also spent time reading tons of blogs to see how friends or even strangers are doing.

I am quite satisfied with wat i am having now. Of course, if i own a little condo, that will even be better. Looking back since 1999, I din manage to lead the kind of lifestyle Wong Hei led in the show. But i am not too bad either. hee.... I shall put in this way, this is Jeff's way of life. Not Jeff Wang hor.....

Work Hard Play Hard

Very tiring and long day. I was supposed to work on the earlier shift but somehow, i was swopped to do the late shift. Wow lau eh... Went early to work but in the end return home late. Rushed like mad after dinner cos there was a feed from Indonesia. Need to do liasing and editing. Really xiong! Made a hasty retreat after work to avoid the "Project SuperStar" crowd.

OMG, many fans were there since last night. I guess they wanted to have a good look at the wanna be and catch good seats in the studio. Anyway, this program has indeed spent a lot on publicity. There was a HUGE banner outside Mediacorp, even our canteen display standing pin up of the contestants. Faint.... They should put it outside for the public to see. Wat for put in the canteen for our staff to see? Funny lor...

Headed down to Zouk last nite after some persuasion from my colleague. Reached there ard 130am and most retros were gone. I only get to hear "Summer Rain". Then there was a mixture of R&B and some dance music. Slightly different from the mambo jambo in the past. Saw some gays dancing happily on the podium after 3am. Gosh, they got touchy and ..... shall not elaborate.

No wonder, Home Ministry and MICA banned the gay party this year. THEY SHOULD. I am sorry if there are gays reading this. I am not being personal but sometime their behaviours are really out of control. Yes, i know straight do that too but seriously, pple feel wierd naturally when the same sex do horny stuff. If it is a closed door event, hmm... maybe not too bad. But then again, it will encourage more pple to turn homo. Is this good or bad? I dunno but it is definitely against the norm.

Eerie eerie....

The Kallang Murder hit the streets over the last few days. It has been the hot topic for the week. I was assigned to write something abt the Chinese deceased, whose colleagues performed a ritual to appease her soul. Strange enough, i had a hard time looking for the tape.

I was told by someone tat the tape was in the editing room. When i went over, it was not there. It was with another colleague H. After checking out, the tape was with AP. However, when the AP brought the tapes to me, that particular tape was missing. Strange strange. Finally, the tape was found lying on the desktop of my colleague H.

That's not the end. While editing in the room, my video editor found the pictures very eerie. I din say much. But later, before going on air, the edited tape was missing!!! Everyone searched high and low but no avail. Fortunately, my video editor dubbed a copy and we put the dubbed copy on air. My anchor got mad and embarked on a searching mission. The tape was eventually found lying on the table top of another colleague. Really strange and eerie....

Student turn Colleagues

Warm Sunday afternoon. Too bad din go Sentosa but headed town for shopping. Joined the GSS by getting a shirt for myself at only $15. Cheap cheap! Went over to DFS and checked out the latest branded stuff. Been a very long time since i bought a branded shirt.ha...

Anyway, met Qiang for dinner. Well, this thoughful guy bought me a souvenir from his Europe trip. Nice bookmark from St Paul Catheral. Where's the place? In UK, where Prince Charles first marriage took place. I passed by the place when i was in UK the other time. Din really went in but from the outside, the place is majestic and grand. I think it is one of the largest catheral in Europe if i remembered correctly. Either second or third largest.

Then i found out from him that Daniel is going to be a teacher in MJR. OMG! An ex-manjusrian turn teacher almost ten years later. And he is going to teach mathematics with Mrs Lim. This is cool lor. I find this very interesting. We were once Mrs Lim's student and a decade down the road, they became colleagues. I think it is time for me to pay a visit to MJR to see how things have changed. Anyone wants to go with me?

Good Old Times

Wow... Lilian actually dedicated an entire entry to our "Chi Fan Yi Zhuo"!!! Whoo hoo.... Kind of miss the good old days... Yes, the days where we spent 42 days in China. There were so many funny things that went on in our group of 10? Not only Ron, Joe, Eve, Elieen, Jennifer, there were also Binni, Avia (wonder if i spelled it correctly) and the other girl whom i forgot her name. ha...

We always sit together during lunch or dinner, force ourselves to gulp down left-over by playing cheesy orientation type of games..... We ate bowls of rice, drank litres of soup and ate tons of fruits..... It was fun. I still remember the time where we wanted to catch the flag rising ceremony at Tiananmen Sq. We woke up early in the morning at 4 or5 am, upon reaching there, the ceremony was over. We were so disappointed and headed back to the hotel for dou jiang you tiao.....hahahaha.....

We played games and Joe always win. While working at Suzhou, we met every night and gossip abt different things. And if some of you still remember, i coloured by hair at Suzhou. Then we took a photo. hahaha..... It was during this time that our friendship strengthened. I am glad we are still in contact. Other than my other poly friends, our "chi fa yi zhuo" will always be there.... Cheers to our group!!!

More than a Decade

Gosh... time really flies. Met up with Alvin this afternoon and had a great tan at the pool with him. been more than half a year since i last met him. Guess we are too busy with our work and life. He is doing well in his career. To my surprise, he took up a part time degree. Way to go pal!

This guy whom i have known for the last 15 years has grown up. He is no longer the "xiao hun hun" that i used to know. He mixed with some bad companies during his days in poly and secondary school. He did absurd stuff, to some extent law breaking. However, he has changed, and for good. To see him working hard towards his goal kind of inspire me too.

On tuesday, chat with another primary school friend whom i have known for even longer. He felt disgruntled with his stable career, hoping to find a job of his interest. The harsh reality, loans and other oppt cost are deterring him. We were not very close during our primary school days but somehow turn to a "heart to heart" talk with him after we met over MSN. Well, i kinda treasure this type of long term friend. I wonder if i would be able to meet up other long lost friend in the years to come.....

Kharma kharma

Lilian is rite. Kharma is here! She got BLASTED in front of many young editors like me!!! Ha... I am not trying to be mean but my acting boss did a good job to tick her off! She is always like tat. Keep saying pple treat her unfairly. Wat abt us? Was she ever kind to us? NEVER! She must have bottled up her feelings and vent at us whenever there is a chance.

Too bad i was not there to witness the "live show". I was busy doing some other stuff. However, i am glad she was punished by my acting boss. She deserved this long ago. Well, seriously i seldom see acting boss got so flared up. Think she had really pissed him off. Anyway, after her shift, she starts to write arrow shooting report. I will never be surprised if she complains to big boss abt his attitute.

I heard her face turn pale and were almost in tears when she was being shouted. Dun you agree it is like a hero who turn up suddenly to take care of a villian. Really "da kuai ren xin"!!! I guess she will tone down a bit after this incident, only for a short time. Then she will commit the same problem again. Haiz... a leopard can never change its spots!

Ripped Apart

Why why why? Why must i face such an obstinate obstruction? I was nearly blown into pieces after a severe time bomb exploded. Bosses who are fickle minded create problems and troubles for small fries like me. I cannot understand why pple can behave in this way. They are supposed to make clear decision but eventually alter as they liked

To make things worse, they enjoy sensationlizing stuff. Even if you argue, they will insist u are wrong. How can tat be? My boss initially directed me to work towards a goal, but halfway thru, she changed her mind. I followed her instructions and was told i did it wrongly. I double checked and found nothing wrong but it was her who started the mistake.

I tried to explain but was rebuked by her instantaneously. After seeing her expression, i have decided not to quarrel cos it wont do any party good eventually. However, THAT DOES NOT MEAN I AM AFRAID OF HER. After all, i will still be working with her for another time. Why must it be me?

In this harsh environment, there are people who are always ready to strike on you anytime. And there is this minority who have a fetish to make life difficult for others. I am still fortunate to have a gp of supporters who are willing to lend me a listening ear when i need.

A Nite of Uncertainties

Despite being wee hours in the morning, totally worn out after a night of boogie at Double O, I decide to update my blog cos there were so many untold stories that happened just a while ago. Sometime, i feel that i have neglected my friends. A close friend of mine ended a short relationship a couple of weeks ago.

I din even notice till today. It was after some observations and wierd behaviour, i realised it was true. To protect the identity of the person, i will not disclose his/her name. My friend is not only out of love but also experienced some failure in his/her career. The thing is i am always complaining abt my job but well, this party also faces some difficulties too. This is life. I have to admit.

Another friend of mine also ended up working under a cranky (read: spinster) boss. We have something in common, boss of this kind enjoys nagging and complaining. So, i am not the one suffering under such fate. We encouraged each other hoping for a better tomolo. Hopefully. This evening is filled with so many uncertainties and turn of events. I hope my dear friends out there will eventually emerged stronger!!!!

PS: Do i look like Jiujian? Well, someone said i looked like him. Is that a compliment or wat? hmmm....

Ini Apa? JB?

I was out with Jun for her birthday celebration earlier today. Fun Fun Fun! Made our fourth overseas trip (ha... if you consider JB as oversea). Went Taman Sentosa again, wow, my favourite eatery have undergone a major overhaul. More windy and better atmosphere. Then, i realised the place is in dire need for publicity. Not many shoppers on a friday evening. I wonder if pple could not afford or they are more keen to do their shopping at city square. As usual, saw many JB mei. ha...

Keong is back! ha.. wonderful pictures u had in Europe. Oh mine... they were indeed beautiful. I guess he must have tons of stories to tell and share. We need to meet... not forgetting BWW. Now we even have something in common to talk. Think he travelled to more places than me... Vienna leh... Wow... sounds artistic.... He is right. Catherals and more catherals.... Those were the days....

Then it was Lilian who called me in the morning to talk abt her job and Canada trip. I am so envious. When is my turn... I missed the cooling temperature, 9-10 degree when u wake up in the morning. This can never happen at home. Weather should be pretty warm in the day if in Europe. Anyway it's summer now. Unless, u cross the English Channel to where Queen Elizabeth reign. Oh God!

Torture Over

Yeah! Managed to survive over the last three days. Din had the mood to update my blog cos so many things had happened. First, being framed by a colleague. In fact, it was the person's fault but the blame was put on me. I tried to explain but not too sure if my boss choose to believe. Apparently, he preferred my explanation. However, over here, there may still be a turn of event. Felt very demoralise on that day.

Then, it was another mad day on wed and thurs. As mentioned earlier, she is back and i need to be extra alert. It was my over alertness that brought me trouble. Ha... wanted to ensure things are right so did things pretty slowly. But she was not too happy abt it. When she kept pushing me, i overlooked some facts and ended up sucking thumb. Fortunately, her mood was not that bad, if not, i will end up even worse. Stress hor???

Enjoying a little music in my room now. Feel very relaz cos its my off days. Been waiting for the past five days. I will be pre-occupied for the next 2 days. Shall not think too much till sunday. Let me enjoy and take a break from work!!!

Pass Voice Test

Went to work early in the morning for the voice test. My mentor find my voice soothing except on the flow when i read my script. I tend to fumble due to my nervousness. ha... My "Yu Yin" was not bad. Mentor said once my voice is transmitted over microphone, it will sound even better. Her words made my day!!!

Had a quick lunch with some of my colleagues. Then saw group CEO Ernest Wong eating with other senior management staff. Wow! Cos people from the upper echelon seldom eat in canteen. I mean they will drive their car out to some restaurant or quiet place to eat. But this entire group was seen having canteen food. Maybe they want to be a more "people" type of management. If i could sit by that table one day with them, wow.... may have become a management to be....

Detestable Week

Drag myself to work this afternoon after my off day. Felt horrible this coming week cos i will be having a voice test later AND to work under HER! Oh God! Someone, pls save me. I din know why boss enjoy pairing me with her. Why me and not her good friend??? ARGH.... This is life. I dun have a choice. I remembered during school days u can choose your group members. Over here, can i?

Anyway, encountered an embarrassing incident just now. Ok, not too convenient to reveal here. Something between me and a female colleague of mine. Oh dear. I felt so embarrass. I bet she felt that too. Fortunately, i maintained my "coolnest" and did wat i intended too. I quickly made an apology. ha... Fishy rite? Fyi, i din barged into a female toilet. ha....

I am looking forward to the end of this week. First, jun's birthday then meeting up with yvette and gang. Woo hoo.... I will enjoy myself to the fullest after all that torture on wed and thurs. Weekend weekend.... pls wait for me......

MW sucks!

Despite being tired and worn out, i need to make a complain. Patronised MW this evening with Ken and his colleagues after work. Anyway, it is my off day the following day so i decided to tag along. Upon reaching, i was welcomed by a cashier who sat on a low lying bench. The sight of cash box made me felt disgusted. A well known landmark in Mhd Sultan Rd and yet uses a very pathetic box to collect money. Are they poor or trying to be different???

Went in but the place din catch my attention. Low ceiling, lousy crowd and strange pple. In order to have the best of both world, the club houses a R&B room, the usual dance floor, lounge, bar, pool table. However, the freaking dance area is so small tat i encounter difficulty even walking around. I felt so intimated for the first time. U need to squeeze thru your way. But if you hang within the bar area, the place is moderately fine.

The music, well a mixture of retro, hits and some euros. Dj din do a good job by mixing the right music at the rite time. The place reminded me of MU during the early days ie when MU is still located next to Shaw House. MU is good cos there is free entry. Over here, yar rite.

Moving on, the waiter made my blood boil. I am supposed to come and relax. In the end, this young stupid waiter made me wait at the counter for a good whole 10 minutes before giving me my drink. I was so pissed that i reprimanded him.

Me: I have been waiting like a fool for so long but my order not served.
Waiter: Oh! Erm... wat did you order?
Me: Beer. And i kept waiting while u serve your premium customers.
Waiter: ....
Me: Can i have my drink now?
Waiter: Here. How many did you order? Any coupons?
Me: I have already given it to your other colleague. One only.
Waiter: Sorry to keep you waiting.

See, i think i should lodge a complain to its management for giving me such an unfair treatment. Just because i dun pay for a bottle of Chiva Regas or Hennesy, i should not be deprived of quality service. I will never visit this place again unless pple sign me in for free. Lesson learnt!!!

Need time to breathe

Yar rite. Was too busy this afternoon. The job can sometime get on my nerve cos it is forever like being on the battle field. I was instructed to do things at the eleventh hour. When this happen, i always worry about the quality of the product. They are some how correlated. Fortunately, things went on well. Thankfully!

Will be meeting Lilian and gang next friday. This girl must have brought back many "make-me envy" photos. Too bad i dun have the chance and time to travel so far and so long. It will be great if someone could spare me sometime. Really looking forward for another trip (if possible) before year end. ha.... Call me a travel freak if you want!

Saw something funny just now. NTU made a blunder over its honours classification. Ha... A renowed (that is wat they called) and one of the top universities in Asia fumbles over its system. Can you imagine? I cannot believe the IT dept could screw up over serious matter like this. Students especially graduating batch are anxious over their results. However, wat the school announced turn out to be incorrect. This must have pissed many off. I am glad i had graduated. If not, i will faint over such an unforgivable incident. tsk tsk....

Old Hill Street Police Station

Received my press card this afternoon after making a trip down to the Old Hill Street Police Station. WoW! I was intrigued by the place. Despite being a govt office, there were cafes, art galleries and a court yard. I felt artistic the moment i stepped into the compound. The entire building houses MICA, MDA, NAC etc. All media related authorities. Pretty cool if i can get to work there.

While collecting my pass, there was a msg at the reception stating "out for lunch". I got pissed for a moment and blamed myself for arriving late. Then realised that counter staff should be available during office hours. Even if one of them goes out for lunch, there should be another one on standby. Strange. Got out of the building and roamed around Funan Centre.

Still the same old funan. I remembered the days when i used to frequent tat place with haojie and ken. There was a pizza outlet called Milano or something. We used to eat our favourite pasta there. Gone with the wind. I think the place is now being replaced by some other restaurant or something. Ok, old man reminiscing good old days. Yar....

UOC mate

Will be making a trip down to MICA tom to collect my long awaited press pass. Yar, i last held one when i was in SR. Hopefully when i get my pass, i will have the oppt to cover events in the upcoming months. So much for tat, work is as usual today. Boss asked a few qns earlier, amended my scripts here and there. But it was a good learning experience.

Met Zhiwei for dinner yesterday. Been more than half a year since i last met him. Yeah, my orientation friend, one of my closest buddy in UOC. I remembered the time we spent at the camp, many funny things that happened. ha... Then, we went on to organise the subsequent camp. Other than peixuan, i guess he is the other UOC friend that i kept in contact.

Yes, he will be going into insurance too. Another "victim" or eager job-seeker? According to him, he is pretty keen on the job. Well, if he enjoys it, then it is definitely a good start. Afterall, it is like a sales job. And i always strongly believe that a sales job can earn money if you are willing to commit seriously. Anyway, this guy is damn funny. Told me an unexpected turn of event that happened early this year. I laughed my head off.

It is always good to keep in contact with pple. I try my best to meet them whenever i can. They make a different in my life.. yeah?
