CNY Day 1

新年快乐!万事如意!

It's the first day of Chinese New Year and i am back in office. Went around sending new year greetings to my senior colleagues. Well, they gave me ang pow! whoo... For the fun and get blessed! At the very same time last year, i din dare to do it.

Went to a few temples on new year eve. I visited 四马路观音庙 alone to offer my prayers. After which, met ken outside Dbl O at Mohammed Sultan. Right across the street, there was another temple, 凤山寺。So we went over to pray. It was an ancient temple built in the early 1900s.

Since we are at the vicinity, i suggested we make a trip to Buddhist Lodge, 居士林. We made some prayers before heading back to Dbl O. The turnout at Dbl O was in fact pathetic. At one time, there were only 10 of us in the dance floor. That reminded me of the time when i went MU. Crowd was so small!

Told one of the regulars, it was as though we booked the entire place for our personal function. Really leh... So we danced among ourselves and enjoyed to the fullest. whahah.... Cool! Reached home ard 5am, slept almost immediately. My new year eve....

Lunar New Year Message

Manage to revive the computer a bit. But it is going bonkers at any moment in time. Called up Acer, they helped me and insisted i need to remove the virus from computer. I KNOW! IDIOT! But is seems that no one has an anti virus software.

I wanted to reformat my computer before installing any other software. BUT I CANT REFORMAT AT ALL! Cos something is running on my hard disk that prevent me from reformating. ARGH! I have been a good citizen, never download any porns or songs for donkey years. (Stop laughing, i know pple wont believe) And now i get this kind of treatment. SHIT!

Anyway, it's lunar new year eve. FINALLY, my off day too. Went back to Kim Keat, where i used to live to pass something to my auntie. Wow. The place that i lived for 20 years have changed so much. Look so much better than it dilapidated state five years ago. Upgrading program was good. PAP's formidable formula. ha....

Met my ex-neighbour. Grown up boy liao. He was a small kiddie years ago. Now, a young man whom i almost cannot recognise. My mum remembers him. Well, he is still able to recognise me but i failed. whahaha....

Over at work, had lots of good food lately. Compliments from our clients and boss. Had bbq pork, egg tarts, char siew soh, fruits, pineapple tarts, siew mai, peng2 cai4! Cant believe it. Oh, not forgetting Yu Sang! Had a lohei session on Thursday. To be honest, for the first time, i feel so happy at work.

I guess i have got used to the environment and accustomed to different working habits. Felt so accomplished. The feeling was very different when i first came last year. Having said that, i am still open to greener pasture. ha... I keep my options open all the time!

Happy New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Monetary Relation

My computer is down permanently. Keep restarting and protesting! Argh! That means i cant surf net for now. Have to borrow my bro laptop to update my blog. Shit! Needed to blog badly cos something major happened!

Yes, my best friend has called off his wedding. I cant believe it. After so many years, they have decided to put a stop to the game. Well, i was shocked when i learnt abt the news. I have been too busy with work and paid little attention to my friends. I could not digest the fact initially.

For this relationship, my friend jeopardise his friendship with us. For her, he bought a car, a house, branded stuff, jewellery, did part time and spent countless sum of money. All for the sake of providing her a comfortable home. Yet it backfired!

So i am right! A monetary relationship wont work. I din know if he is fortunate or not to end this relation. But i am sure he regain his freedom. He is able to do things that he wanted to do in the past but was badly restricted.

Afterall, we are not in his shoes. They know wat is best for them. I wish them all the best. Cherish watever we have right now. Dun regret when u lose it!

Refreshing Week

First day of the week, where most pple suffer monday blue. Well, i kinda of escape cos i was on a 2 day off. whoo hoo... Did some shopping this afternoon. Before that, i made a trip to PF at Far East Sq to receive my membership card. Yes, in less than a week, i will leave FF.

Kevin called me a traitor. Well, i pay less now. He will remain in FF and pay twice of wat i am paying in PF! whahaha... Boo.... He is probably rich and can afford more. I need to save up for my future. Cant afford to waste so much. Afterall, PF is not that bad either.

Went Bugis to scout for some new year clothings. Couldnt get one over there. The designs are not attractive to me. Tried out a few, din really like it. Some were too young for me. I dun want to be named "Bey Yao Bai", so old yet wearing some 15-16 yr old clothings. Bleah.... I wish i were a bit younger. whaha... but then again, if i am younger, i will need to go to school. I prefer my life now.

Eventually, i went over to Far East Plaza. Got myself a long sleeve shirt, which looks a bit like Raoul. Whahaha.... The price is 3 times less than a shirt at Raoul. Anyway, i will save a bit to get my Raoul by hook or crook. I also bought a Tshirt which also makes me young. whahaha... not the 15-16yr old type but the 21-22 yr old type. okok.. i know i am OVER AGE!

Was reading the paper this afternoon where i saw PM reaction to Workers' Party manifesto. Hmm... To be honest, i was a bit surprised at Low's manifesto in the upcoming election. He brought up 4 points, one of which, to remove the ethnic ratio among HDB flats. I was quite puzzled cos WP touched on some sensitive issues. I dun blame PM's reaction. Cos i was equally shocked when WP brought up tat issue.

However, when i read the paper further, i found out WP have their reasons for removing the ethnic ratio. Fine. I respect their views. Singaporeans are matured enough, ethnic issue is no longer a problem. BUT PAP govt took great effort to build up this cohesive and multiracial society. They will never tolerate anyone who may in anyway cause social disintergration.

I got to agree. I am sure our opposition can come up with better manifesto. They knew Singaporeans are matured, yes indeed, and they are also better educated. Bring up new topics during campaigning. Dun bring up old issues. I mean if they are useful, they would have proven it right in the last few elections. Anyway, it is my 2 cents worth.

Election may come anytime after budget. I hope it wont happen in March. Cos i will be away for holiday. whahaha... I want to enjoy myself at the beach. To get a good tan. Yes! A beach boy!

Lousy Nite @ Dbl O

The more you expect the worse u get. The party at Dbl O sucks big time. They have changed the DJ to some wierd guy who cant spin good music. Yes, there were retros but lost the beat somehow. I think i can do a better job than them.

One of the regulars complained to me. I was equally surprised at the way the DJ spin his music. This is RETRO party or MAMBO nite. I cant believe Emerald Hill Gp put her reputation at stake by engaging an inexperience or some part timer to do the job. If not for the $20, i would have left the place immediately.

Wat Ken said was true. We had a tough working week and its only rite that we get a good break from Dbl O. Instead we had a hard time there. Besides lousy music, i am very skeptical abt their security. A fight nearly broke up. Some NS boys were unhappy with each other, then threw people off the platform.

The DJ ignored what they saw. During that time, there was not a single bouncer at sight. ARE THEY DOING THEIR JOB? Some gals fell off the platform, guys also tripped and fell. I am very alert and signal to the DJ. Nothing was done. It was until one of the NS boy's friend came and pull them apart.

$20? And this is wat i get. I was already upset with the songs then came this stupid thingy. I wonder wat young pple think. If this continues, Dbl O is going to loose another customer. Anyway it's late and i shall not rattle anymore. Saw an ex-colleague of mine. Well well, he was with his gf and it happened that they were colleagues. Whahaha.... Interesting couple.

Give that man a BREAK

Another day to wkend. Finally. Have been stretching myself to the limits since monday. Slept almost immediately once i collapse on bed. I will keep awake for an hour before going to bed. Well, i had supper and needed some time to digest before heading to dreamland. I would usually laze in the sofa to catch some TVB serial.

Has been waking up very early like 7am and work till late night. Really "Pai Tan" (in hokkien meaning not easy to earn)! Slept for few hours then on the job training, followed by work woRK WORK! Siong! However, attended 2 separate courses this week. Fortunately, it was fruitful. I really enjoyed it.

Looking forward to this coming wkend. I need a BREAK badly. It's almost Chinese New Year. Wanted to do a bit of shopping but i have really got no time. Argh.... It is now mid Jan. AND my next holiday is coming up very soon.

OMG! Another trip? Yep, BKK again in March! Whahaha.... Cant believe that i am making another trip to BKK. Lost count on the number of trip to BKK. Ok, looking fwd to the same old stuff again! Mango rice, Seafood, Bird nest! I wont forget the last time where i almost threw up everything i ate in Yaowarat also known as Chinatown. Whahaha....

Then on the same month, i will be going to Bali! Whoo hoo... 2 holidays in a month. First time in my life. Alright, i have never been to Bali despite terrorist attack. I have heard so many things abt Bali. Oh, i love beach resort. I hope the place will remain peaceful. I want to enjoy my vacation. hee....

Upgrading Week

Was put to on the job training since yesterday. Wow! A very interesting and insightful course. I think it is one of the best course i have attended so far. I really get to learn a lot of new things such as phototaking, how to work in a team without offending seniors. More importantly, i learn a lot of technical jargons that i have never come across.

Well, i did not graduate with a mass comm degree. There are many technical aspects that i maybe lacking. This course is necessary. And i get to know my colleagues better! Anyway, the field trip to Chinatown was fantastic. Took a lot of good and bad shots. ha... Now I know why ying enjoys photoshooting so much. It's fun if u know how to make use of your camera. However, taking static shot is always more difficult than a moving shot.

There will be another short course this thurdays. This entire week has been dedicated for training. Seriously, i think it is impt to attend new courses cos it keeps us relevant and also improve on our overall being. If not, like wat the authorities said, u will be out if u dun upgrade constantly. Fortunately, big companies always keep us occupied with courses. whahaha....

Happy Saturday

Home sweet home! Very tired after a nite of fun at Dbl O. So relax and carefree for that moment. Saw a few regulars. Getting to know them better now. Eric and gang were there again. To add on, Chin yin and gang were also there. Whoo hoo.... Really very fun.

I understand that it was chin yin who initiated the trip to Dbl O. IMPRESSIVE! I danced with Eric and my hall mates. Well, some were my juniors but din know them in school previously. They are very fun pple. Then Eric popped me a qn.

Eric: After seeing so many girls here, i still feel my gf is the best. Wat do you think?
Me: Definitely! None of them can even compare to her!
Eric: Steady ah bro....
Me: Ha... the girls here are Rubbish! (read: Suay Por)
Eric: ha.....

Actually, i feel that some of the girls here are like if u give them some sweeteners, they may follow u back. Ok, i am not trying to sound as if the girls there cheap. But i am sure there are a few out there who falls into this category. I am skeptical abt them.

However, i also understand that there are guys who also behave like hungry wolves. It seems tat they have not seen girls for a million of years. Desperate and ready to pounce at anyone. Hmm.... Here, i dun mean all. I mean some (at least i am not). whahaha...
----------------

Went shopping with jun. Have been scouting for a good credit card for a very long time. Ken told me to get UOB card if i intend to get one. So i waited for a roadshow before any application. And yes, UOB did held a road show. I applied for one immediately. Not too sure if i can get it. I hope i can. Once i receive the card, heheheh... welcome to the world of CREDIT! Shall wait....

"Summer" Rain

Rain rain rain! It has been pouring almost everyday over the last few days. Wet and cool, very suitable at night. During the day, it becomes a hazard. I am almost down to slippers. If not, my shoes will get very wet and that irritates me a lot!!! Besides, my feet cannot "tahan" dampness and is VERY prone to virus attack.

Went for tuition earlier. Poor kid was too tired to continue. Could not finish the topic but to adjorn till next lesson. I have been a student too. I can fully understand his plight, but no choice, i am paid to teach. Anyway, being a student is difficult than worker. hahaha... okie... i know pple will disagree. To me, i prefer work. I used to enjoy school life too but mentality changed after my days in university. whahhaa......

Have been reading my blogs lately. Some were pretty cool, while others are so-so. I know that my blog is BORING too! Well, it is just a way of expressing my thoughts at this particular moment. It is a personal record of my life. U may call it "zi lian", but i reviewed my blog ocassionally to see what i have done so far. I dunno who are reading (except a few) but if u REALLY find it boring then too bad lor.... I am not as fantastic like xiaxue, rockson.... :P

By the way, i received an email asking for resume. I was very surprised when i looked at the title of the mail. After going thru the content, u have guess it right. It's a FINANCIAL PLANNER position. *Faint! I tot opportunity is knocking on my door. But not this kind. There are so many vacancies for planner lor, always on the web and papers.

Though i want a greener pasture, it should be something better than this rite? K, i am not saying a financial planner is no good. Bascially, i dun like the job and see myself in that kind of environment. Sorry man! Por pi Por pi, i hope to see "greener" opportunities!

Northstar V

Caught the late bulletin just now to see how Ex Northstar V was being conducted. Generally, i am very impressed despite being a mock exercise. There were bombs that went off at the same time on different location. Our various agencies are quick to react. On tv, it looks dramatic as though some terrorist attack did take place.

However, i am more curious abt the evaluation of the exercise. I mean after all this is a mock up, in the event of a real attack, are Singaporeans ready? Well, the govt has always reminded us to stay vigilant. I strongly believe our agenices are ready at any point in time. The exercise serves as a test.

The scenario will be more chaotic than wat happened in the exercise today. There will be children, pregnant ladies, babies etc. Of course, no one can create an exact scenario. Singaporeans need to be alert and know wat to do. Some pple complain abt inconvenience. But i wonder if our life are more valuable than being late for work? I am sure companies will be kind enought to accept "can be excused" reason.
***

It has been raining the whole day. When i came back from Dbl O last nite, it was already drizzling. By early morning, the intensity just increased. Cool Sunday. Headed to the gym for some cardio exercises. Saw a male celeb with his "partners in crime". Haiz... I wonder if gals have lost their attractiveness or guys prefer to be hug by guys?

Wat in the world has come to? There are so many unanswered questions. I reminded myself to stay simple and keep out of others' affairs whenever possible. Well well... If there are experts who are able to provide SATISFYING solution, do let me know!

Already 1 Year

First day of work in 2006 after hibernating for a week! I would say it is a good start. Things were pretty smooth. I hope it will remain like this throughout the year. Well, 5 Jan also mark my first anniversary here. Fast rite?

It was raining this afternoon while i went to work. Dropped off at Bishan to withdraw money with the intention to take a cab. While going thru the ATM, i realised a certain amt of money went missing. I thought someone misused my card. Called up the bank quickly to check. Know wat, it was me who spent the money. Koo koo lar! Argh...

I wonder if i am old. Forget abt the transaction i had and almost blame on an innocent party. Shit. Ok, it's my fault. Thank the customer service officer for attending to a kan cheong spider. ha... So, the card is still SAFE!

Passed the day peacefully. 2 more days before another off day. whoo hoo... I am waiting....

Week Long Vacation over!

Wklong break is finally over. I will be back on work later. Coincidentally, 5 jan was my first day of work last year. That makes me one yr old over at my workplace. whahaha... Cant believe (again) that i manage to survive after a year. whaha....

Anyway, i just received an unwelcoming email tat spoilt my day. I shall not revealed the content. Just a bit disappointed. I tot i can do it. haiz... I guess i would have to work harder next time. Do my utmost best everytime. There is bound to be success one day. And i will perserve.

Back to my week long vacation. Din go overseas this time. Stayed at home or catch up with my old friends. Hao was kind enough to drive us out on monday. Had steamboat at Bugis but poor hao got fine for not putting enough parking coupons. We chat a lot abt his marriage, our work, our future and life. I hope this will compensate everything. hee...

Hao has been a very long friend of mine. Since our days from MJR, we were so close. I know his family very well. We used to hang out a lot during our teenage years. He is getting married soon! Wow! Time flies. We are getting old. Ken keep stressing we are in our late 20s. Do watever we need to do quickly before we grow older. Yes. I also keep reminding myself abt it.

It's late and i am sleeping soon. Hope to see my greener pasture in my dreams later. whahaha....

Nostalgic Night

Just got home from a gathering with NTU friends. Wow... Been a very very long time since i last met Edwyn. Ha... 3-4 mths? My roomie in uni days and we were very close that time. (now still) Used to bitch a lot abt our classmates, schoolmates and hallmates. Those were the days.

I still remember there was one year where we countdown at Gavin's hall. If i am not wrong, it should be in 2004. We countdown together with tv, play sparkles, drank and had so much fun. Seriously, if we have a gp of good friends, i dun mind counting down with them at a place. I will give up the usual party countdown.

Went Devil's again with them. They really play chinese music on Sunday. Cool! Saw Pat Mok and her friends. Well, i see her very often in Canteen too. whahaha... sometime in those unglam looks. Ed updated me abt his life. And i must say, i turned up this time cos of him. There were many occasion when i was too busy to meet him. Same reason, not excuse - WORK!

Before that, i attended ex-neighbour wedding. Held at M Hotel, the atmosphere and food were good. The bride is pretty in her gown. I guess most woman look the prettiest in their gowns. The groom is also well dressed. We had the usual toast, phototaking, talking and bitching. ha

When i was young, my sis and i used to play with the bride. Well, my mum was her bro nanny. Naturally, we got together and play. My cousin also joined in. We live at the same block in Kim Keat. We played catching, hide and seek. Was almost chased by our neighbours' dogs a few times. Running and shouting also made the residents angry. ha.... Those were the days.

A nite of old memories at the start of the year. Gan Chu Liang Shen! They relighted memories of good old days. For a while, i felt nostalgic. It's part of growing up. What happen today will end up becoming history and memory. I know. I will cherish every little moment now!

2006 Day 1

Happy New Year! Yes, the first day of 2006!!! Finally! It's almost 6am in the morning and i am not asleep yet. Just got back from the Countdown Party at Expo. While waiting for my hair to dry, decide to reflect on myself again. I know i have been under ton of stress last year, i hope to emerge even stronger from now on. Nothing can beat me since i have lots of support from family, friends and other half.

I am growing older. Inching closer to 30 as the minutes goes by. I told myself to do watever i like. Do not restrain as long as it is within my capacity. Of course not things that are immoral or illegal. ha... Cherish watever i have right now. Well, what i have today are not entirely by coincident. I worked for it. Everything is true and i dare to repeat it again! whahahaha....

Anyway the party at Expo was not bad. Fun and Stress Free. Had lots of fun and met many familiar faces. Saw Xueni n gang, Huimin n Meishan, Yanni, Derek. Most mambo regulars were there. Jun was also there with me. Fortunate right! At the first second of the new year, we were together. wha.... xing fu right? Hee....

Going to sleep very soon. Waiting for my hair to dry. Will be attending a wedding dinner tonight. My childhood friend cum neighbour. Look fwd to her wedding plus the FOOD. hee... Will see some of my Kim Keat friends and cousins. Another busy day!
