Still on Leave

Still resting at home after the trip from Bali. Body not feeling very well over the last few days. First, it was my stomach. Had wind in it and feel bloated all the time. I told my mum it must have been the coconut milk, ye jiang or lemak that i had over many lunches and dinners in Bali.

Yes, Indonesians love coconut milk. Every dish consists of coconut milk. I got sick of it by day 3. The curries are cooked with thick doses of lemak. Can you imagine a bowl of lasak with 50% full of coconut milk? whahhaha... That's Indonesian dishes. I am not sure if their lemak are fresh. Cos overnite lemak can cause discomfort to the stomach. hmm....

Next, i lost my old specs while body boarding. Now i got no choice but to put on my new glasses. However, these new glasses have deeper degree. Wearing them the whole day makes my head spin. I am going to make another new pair later to bring down the degree. Too tiring for my eyes.

Fortunately, i am still on leave. Been staying at home most of the time. Really had some good rezt, sleep and think nothing. Will be going back to work on friday. Did my appraisal with boss last monday. Just as i have expected. OVerall was still good. I am quite pleased with my performance. hee... Thanks to pple who put in a few good words for me.

My performance bonus depend on this. I hope i can get a pay increment soon. At this amount that i am earning, i will be left behind my peers in no time. Need to buck up a little. Shall see the outcome by June. ha...

6D5N Bali Trip

Bali Bali Bali! Wat a wonderful beach resort. Came back this evening ard 10pm. Had tons of fun and adventure. Weather over there was very hot esp this afternoon. I was sweating uncontrollably, as though i am taking a shower. ha... Wanted to do some last min shopping but gave up eventually due to the hot weather.

I am now SUPER tan. ha... Bali sun was good. It baked me till i was mistaken as an Indonesian. However, i wasnt really tanning. I played body boarding, if i am not wrong. It goes like this, u have a board, then when the wave strikes, using ur body with the board, you ride along the wave. Pretty similar to surfing. But was damn cool lor.

This sport really make me dark like a charcoal. The feeling of riding on a wave is just fantastic. Now i know why pple enjoy surfing. As surfing was exp, we opt for this cheaper sport. I agreed with Alex that we must try surfing the next time when we are back in Bali.

Other than beach activities, we wandered into the rural area in Bali. First, it was the padi field. The scenery was nice. We walked ard one of the field, with an intention to be like a farmer. ha... Since Bali has volcano, she has fertile soil, farmers here adopt contouring farming. That makes the scenery beautiful. Moreover, the farmland is not the usual type that we see in Kedah Malaysia.

We also went to Kintamani. One of Bali's highland, also volcano. To be more exact, it is Mount Agung. We stayed on top of the hill. Once again excellence scenery except for some lack in anemities. My travelling partners went treking while i remained in the hotel. I am not the treking type.

I also get to see many villages in Bali. I guess the pple there lead a simple life with minimal stress. Woman carrying stuff on their head, children running ard catching chicken. They will come down to the beach area on weekend for some getaway. Stress free! We dun get to experience or see this here in Singapore.

Overall, the 6 days 5 nights trip to Bali was fruitful. I encounter new experiences and refresh my mind for a moment. Once again, it opened up my sight. If you ask me will i want to go Bali again? My answer is simple YES.

Life is not about Work

I will be away in less than 24 hours. whoo... Time to go away! Will be taking my virgin flight with Valuair. whahaha... Never tried the airline before. A bit excited cos i think their uniform are less formal than usual airliners. Cool! Since it is supposed to be a retreat, i prefer to see something light and casual.

Look forward to this trip cos its my first time to Bali. Never been there before. Unlike Bkk, this will be a beach resort. Will be staying in a resort or pple here call chalet. ha... A check on the internet revealed that the place is serene, away from heavy crowds. Good! I can relaz on the beach peacefully.

At the same time, i will be thinking thru my career path again. Though things are not going too bad, I still want to evaluate my plans and goals. My appraisal is coming up soon. Not sure how it will turn out, but i prefer to keep my options open.

Anyway, the only positive trait to work here is tat work will never pile up. When i come back from break, i wont see my table piling up with tons of unfinished work. ha... I can enjoy my break thoroughly. Life is not abt working.

I prefer to strike a balance between work and fun. When it's time to travel, i will do so. Do it when we are young. I am glad i am no longer a student. When i was still one 2 years back, i always envy working executive who dun face exam stress. They have the money and can travel if time permits. Now is my time!

Bali Bali. I will be there by this time tomorrow. Whoo hoo....

End of Retro Era

Disappointed! Disbelief! Sad! Double o has decided to do away its sat's retro theme. Retro fans like us had no choice but to wave goodbye. I dun understand the reason for changing its theme. Afterall, Dbl O is the only club that play host to retro songs on SAT.

Spent more than 52 sessions with Dbl O, with an investment of a few hundred dollars. Ken, gavin and i were in shock when we saw the new theme. Wild Party? Come on, wat is deemed as Wild Party? Can they be as wild as those in Tanjong Pagar, why gay man literally strip off their shirts and dance barebodied?

Yes, they engaged lots of female pole dancers. However, none of them look appealing at all. The management probably thought getting female dancers to parade round the crowd will draw in more pple. Pls, they made the place sleezy, n defeat the purpose of a dance club.

According to the resident Dj, the music has changed due to request from audience for a mixture of songs. Retro is still being played in the early part of the night, as time passes, Dj will spin Rnb or hip hop. Well, i am not an anti Rnb person, but Dbl O has an "O bar" tat plays the same theme too. Then why the change?

Besides, they have a Rnb theme on thursday. On top of that, Fri and Sat share the same theme, wild party which in fact is a wolf in disguise. I mean they blast Rnb AGAIN! Wat's the point?

Big boys like Club Momo, Minstry of Sound, Chinablack, Paradigm also play the same genre. And Dbl O is now fighting headon with them. I seriously wonder how did the management came up with such a decision. Impractical n more importantly, doesnt make sense at all. However, ken did raise a point, probably Rnb lovers are good spenders. If that is the case, i got nothing to say.

I have spent so many weekends on Dbl o. Miss the fun that i had with so many pple. It is time to reveal some of the pple tat i met. Danced with Rasheed last night, he was next to me. My honour to party with Dbl O king. His sis, Jaden was also there to add on to the fun.

Chicken buttock, the senior patron of Dbl O (was there way before ken and i joined the club) was seen partying on the same platform with us. There was also Cao Cao, a guy who is so tall that i feel so short standing next to him. Will remember his unique actions. Then there was "Hao Jie", some one who resemble a close friend of mine. Together with Ken, Gavin and i, we formed the Dbl O retro party team.

They are part of my memories liao. It is pretty disappointed that things ended so abruptly. I told ken that if the new theme persist, there is no point for us to stay esp when the cover charge is so exp. We may pay an occasional visit to see the old birds. I guess its time to "hui gui zhu guo"! ha...

That means returning to our home town after more than a year. Music Underground. This is the place where i started dancing, the place where i learn to appreciate english songs and the place that enlighten me on night clubs. Or maybe, do away wif clubbing on wkend. The time has probably come....

Impending Bali Getaway

Whoo hoo... My second trip of the month is up in 5 days time. This is the first time i ever travel to 2 places within the same month. Exciting but cost money. Well, i mean since we have worked so hard, when it is time to give ourselves a break, we must do it.

Met up with Kevin and his friend Alex to discuss abt the impending trip. Cool travelling companions. Alex was keen to take up surfing. He asked if i was interested. I dun mind and would love to give it a try. I am only concern on price. If it is within my budget, i am more than willing to try.

However, the only thing that i may not do is to go trekking. Sorry dudes. But i am not those who are into nature and treking type. Unless it is really worth the effort, i may give it a miss. I prefer sea, sand and sun. ha.... I would love to visit the villages and see how pple live in Bali if possible.

This is my final off day before the trip. Will be working all the way till Monday. Bleah! Wkend will be spent in office. Crap! Well, this is part and parcel of work. Sat is coming that also means retro party is here again. Should be celebrating Ken's bday this sat hopefully. Ooh.. I love travelling...

Fate to Meet

The world is just too small. Met a long lost friend at work place just now. Although we were not that close previously, he still remembers me. ha... Not tat bad. I was surprised to see him, not much changes, except older and slighty fatter. hee.. I get to know him during my radio days. haiz... that was long time ago.

He asked if i still know who Gary Tan was. Yes, my ex-colleague too. They were in the same unit during NS. ha... damnz... that was really long. I saw Gary a couple of weeks ago at Hua Yi Festival at Esplanade. He was invited to perform at one of the shows. Cool!

Earlier, Kenny called me up. ha... So coincidence! Well, he was my primary school mate. He told me one of our schoolmates got married recently. Wow! I remember that girl. We used to play catching and stuff on sat after ECA, now better known as CCA. ha... Those were the days. More than a decade?

Work was pretty ok. Think my break was long. I was a bit slow with work. Anyway, it's another test of endurance tom. haiz... Just endure for a day before another off day. Yep. Ren ren ren...

Family Togetherness

Spent quality time this afternoon with my love ones. I brought little Jordan to meet jun in Bugis. We wanted to go to Si Ma Lu to offer our prayers. Well, weather was hot so once we were out of the station, he wanted to go home. Whahaa...Took some time to coax him. Kids are kids, they love Mac! ha...

Ken came later too. 3 of us together with the little boy shopped ard. He was talking non stop and even cling to Jun and Ken. Initially, he was shy and kept hiding behind me. After some "ice-breaking" session, they became good friends. Funny.

Felt so family! It's something that i look forward in the near future. Ken said he would love to have his kids soon. ha.. I told him to buck up and find his partner soon. Raising a kid isnt easy, however, the fun and bond that bring the family together is satisfying. Alright, sounds like i will be a family man soon. whahaha!

Another off day for me tom! Yes! Will be heading down gym for some weights n cardio training. Been eating and pigging a lot lately after the trip to BKK. I think i shall proceed to Suntec Branch. Nice scenery and more spacious! I love off days.

Holiday Mood

Whoo... Got back from BKK last night. Stupid laptop make me retype everything all over again. damn... I think i am not used to typing on a laptop. Really waste my effot and time. Anyway, the trip to bkk was fun. Very relaxed and refreshed after the trip.

I spent most of the time idling. People were rushing for shopping, sightseeing. Me? whahah.... Sat in cafe, watched pple in Bangkok rushing ard, tanned at my hotel, swam, relax on a jacuzzi and club. This is wat i call life. Oh yes, went to Banyan Tree again this time. However, i was not on a proper dress code. whahaha

Initially, i tot the hoteliers will turn me away. Surprisingly, the offered me a coat and pants. whahaha.. I was in a tank top with a bermuda and a pair of slippers. Yes, typical singaporean. bleah. So this kind lady from the hotel offer me a coat, covered shoes and long pants. Cool!

Drank a bit and had a good chat with my travelling companions who are my colleagues. One of them was kind enough to treat us room service. The cheese beef burger was good. Fantastic. Went to Yaowarat too. This time, ate less. ha... cos i din go to the same restaurant that jun and me went last time.

Had my favourite kwai tiao. The queue is still very long. Ate roasted duck at Mk again. Credit to Jim who ordered the dish last time. Ever since, i am always thinking abt the roast duck. whahaha....

On the last night before returning to Singapore, went clubbing. Best! Never been to tat area previously. Ed told me tat area had lots of expatriates. He was right. The last time i went was RCA. Ed said the place has been renovated, he told me to check it out. Din go this time. Ended up at Sukumvit Soi Sip Et.

The entire stretch was like MS. But more ang mohs. Clubbed at 2 places, Bed supperclub and Q Bar. The latter was excellence. I understand that they intend to set another Q Bar here in Singapore. I guess it should be equally fun. The deco of Bed supperclub reminded me of MOS. whahha... The crowd were fabulous.

Finally back home. Now awaiting for the next trip at the end of the month. Bali. Hopefully, there wont be any changes. Looking fwd once again. March is a holiday month. Confirm! hahah... cheers!

N time to Bkk

It's the eve of Bkk trip. As usual, food is one of the priority when i reached there. Miss sticky mango rice, roadside kwai tiao, banana shake etc. I heard there were new places like Paragon. Ed told me to visit asok. There are things that i can look out over there.

Anyway, the trip was marred by some unexpected turn of event. My "wu xin" comment landed me into trouble. I was in disbelief. Been procrastinating the whiole night, sleep wasnt proper. My profound train of thoughts set in again. Maybe a dream is a dream. It is never easy to fulfill.

I asked myself am i not up to the standard? If not, why the uncertainty? I know it is not easy to get over many things. And i admit i am one of those too but my ideology is simple... Keep it Simple! After all, it is a test of endurance. Are my worries unfounded? I am not sure. Probably heaven knows.

On a lighter note, met up hao and gang for dinner after so many years. It has been a long time since the 3 musketeers met up. whahaha... We were very close since sec days. Hao mum even asked if i have forgotten abt her. She is like a mum to me too. Very nice and kind.

We talked abt careers and and everything. It brought me memories of the old school days. We used to meet every wkend, played the same game, visit each other. Things started to change after yup, an unexpected turn of events. We met up at hao's sister place. hmm.. nice condo. Wow.. if i were to own one of such unit, best! Can become Xin hao nan ren like Wang Xi! whoo....

Gonna pack up some stuff for the trip. Another tuition later. Bkk wait for me. Coming over in a couple of hours... Sawadee kup!

Siblings

Madness in the computer again. Keep downloading funny stuff w/o my permission. Sign of protest. I am not sure how long this will last. Been very irritated by this computer after it was attacked by spy ware. Nothing much can be done to improve the situation. Called the manufacturing company, no use. Try to reform, also no use. Dunno wat kind of virus is rite inside.

Was watching a TVB serial while having my late supper. 2 brothers in love with the same girl. I nearly choked on my food! In this story, there are 3 brothers. The eldest and the second bro are fighting over a same girl. aiyoh. Their youngest bro said it was too digusting. AND I AGREE!

I wonder if there are really such cases. Well, there might be. Like wat happened in the show, things will never be the same after the incident. Come to think of it, it is just too eeyah... Are the two brothers deprive of love? Fighting over a stupid girl n give up their brotherly relationship. wau lau eh... wat the hell!

But then again, this reminded me of something. Yar, a guy who loves his gf so much that he betrayed his friends. Pretty similar yet different. Friends are still friends. You can abandon this relationship but u can never do that to your bro. They share the same blood remember?

It is just too disheartening to know tat pple can turn evil becos of love. And i tot love was suppose to be sweet and innocent? How are siblings going to face each other in terms of situation like this? My mum said, "xiong di dou mei de zuo". So is it true that there shouldnt be siblings at all?

Bday @ Jiak Kim Street

Just ended the first day after turning ahem... Had a great time at Zouk tonight. The crowd was pretty good except for a few gays bouncing ard, kissing openly in public. Well, i have nothing against them but it's Zouk lor. If this happen to be any pubs along Tanjong Pagar i got nothing to say.

Dj was good. The music mix was one of the better ones. Down a bottle of corona which made my day. Best! While i scan thru the place, i realise the crowd seems pretty young. Argh... I told ken we are one of the seniors. Some may even be 10 years younger than us. Opps, did i reveal my age? Watever...

Gravitate ard as the music blast thru the nite. There were few pple who attempt to learn a few strokes from me, ken and gavin. Wa lau eh... damn paiseh. ha... They should learn from the Mambo Mentor aka lao de who always remain on the centre of the platform. Not me pls! The guy next to me was very good. So we managed to execute the spirit of retro. whahaha... bleah...

Back to work, stress level remain high. However, i am in holiday mood liao. So heck abt all the things tat went on in office. After the diasterous shift, felt so jie tuo once out of office. whahah... Anyway, need to sleep liao. My colleagues in the morning shift just started work and here i am still blogging. ha...

Celebrate Good Times

I cant believe it. The system hung on me. I have to rewrite my entire post. And this is my 20 plus plus birthday. My ailing computer played a trick on me. Argh... Making me retype everything all over again.

Anyway, i am feeling good cos its my BIRTHDAY! Happy Birthday to me! Shall remain at 25 from now on. whaahha.... Jun send me greetings on the strike of midnite. My colleagues and Kin Jun also sent me well wishes. I was pretty touch despite trying to keep a low profile on my bday.

Looking back, i have seen myself going through the most difficult moments in life. I managed to overcome all, probably most odds and felt better. Thanks to the support n encouragement given to me by everyone. U deserve a pat on the shoulder. I am pretty satsified with my life. Although things have not worsen, (neither did it improve), i am quite comfortable now.

March has been dedicated as a holiday month for me. Will be away to BKK for a short break next week. Yes, it's my N time to BKK. I intend to relaz and eat throughout the whole trip. At the end of the month, i will be heading to Bali. Yes, beach resort. The serenity, the blue sea... Oh, how i wish things will come quickly.

Ken "jio" me to Zouk tomolo. Yeah, it's mambo nite. I conceded to his request after recalling that it's my bday. whahaha... It will be a nite of celebration and joy. I understand he had also invited Gavin along. ha... I am going to down at least a bottle of Corona for sure. I dun mind if pple are going to buy me drinks. hahaha...

From Carlsberg
Celebrate good time, come on!
