Happy Halloween!

It's the wkend before halloween! Most nightspot had their celebration. So do Dbl O. I realised it has been a year since i started chilling out there. I was there last year on Halloween too. I tot it would be as good as last year. Disappointing! There were not many expatriates who dressed up hopping from one club to another.

There were only a few pple who dressed, mostly bartenders and staff of Dbl O. So sad. And i suspect those who dressed up for the occasion were paid to do so. I dun see Superman, catwoman, students, doctors or nurses. Less entertaining. However, the music compensated everything.

Then Eric and gang were there. They were fun. Xueni, Huiyan n Chee Yong were there. Well, it has been sometime since we club together. It was damn fun. Eric was high! ha.... Before the trip to Dbl O, i met up with Yvette and gang at Brewery (Riverside Point) Had a hearty chat with them. Most were going for holidays in coming dec. How lovely!

I had mine too. Hee... Know wat, 10 days excursion cum getaway officially ends today. I hereby declare work will begin in a few hours time. Oh... Time to stress and work hard again.... I want more holidays.... ha....

Homely Boy

Rainy nite. Thunders and lightning strike the sky for almost an hour. Fortunately, i din go out if not i will be drenched too. This weather has made me felt sleepy. Actually, i have been sleeping a lot since i came back from HK. I took a 3 hour nap in the afternoon. Really felt like a "Da Shao Ye". Stayed at home the entire day. whahaha....

Last nite zouk was good. They had upgraded their sound system, toilets, dance floor. The place has transformed into a more classy n posh place. It is very suitable for young executives like us. hee... When u finish ur work, head to zouk to chill out. The ambience is better now. As for mambo nite, hmm.... very crowded. Afterall it is the first nite after renovation. Regulars were there. I saw Ben Yeo too. I think he is a zouknatic too....

Before the party began, SR hosted an event there. I managed to catch up with a few ex-colleagues. They are so nice. I really miss the good old times there. Bitching, chilling out n less stressful. Times are different now. Well, i chose this path.

Back to my hong kong trip, i went disney for the first time. Pretty fun. Get to see some of my favourite cartoon characters like Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh (which i wonder if the bear is male or female). It is a small theme park, rides less exciting but nice landscaping. I met Dasmond Koh n Michelle Chia there. Ha... Although 2500km away from home, i get to see our local celebrities there. Whaahah....

I saw a few shows in Disney. I liked Lion King musical the best. Good costumes, actors and actresses as well as songs. I also tried the so-called thrilling ride. Not as exciting. Probably due to land constraint? The MTR to disneyland was good, disney theme. Personally, i think it will be suitable for kids. They will love the place. Since it is my first disney trip, i have enjoyed it!

Post HK Trip

I am back! HK is fun but escaping from work is even better!!! whahaha.... 6 days away from work and it feels good. Another 4 more days to go before everything resume normal. Had wonderful memories of HK. Life over there is pretty similar to Singapore except the way they dressed. I am extremely impressed. Very stylo.

Wat abt our fellow Singaporeans? I think we need to catch up. They are one of the leading places in Asia with good fashion sense. If you asked me where i like best, Mongkok! ha... I love the pple, crowd and never tired city. Too bad orchard cant do tat. Closed sharply before 10pm. Bleah... On the first day when i arrived, i was so shocked to see pple cutting their hair at 12am in the morning.

Service was good. I always had the impression that Hongkongers are rude to customers. I am WRONG! They are so courteous and willing to lend a helping hand anytime. I understand from a friend of mine that after SARS period, pple there had changed a lot. Oh, not forgetting the influx of mainlanders from the north. The power of Renminbi can never be underestimated.

We went all the way to New Territories in search for the wishing tree. Yes, we found it at Lam Chuen. Less developed place, more like rural estate. Pple are warm. Managed to take the mini bus over there. I guess it is more like an extended van. Almost blanded into hk life like one of them. Well, maybe we looked the same, as long as we dun speak, nobody will knows if i am from HK. When i do, pple tot i was from Japan! whahaha.... Cant believe it.

I think that has got to do with my dressing. They seldom wear berms, sandals or slippers. It has to be covered shoes. Probably we came from a tropical country, so we like to wear light clothings. Weather was ok although i hope it could be even lower. Pretty similar to Singapore weather. It's almost autumn but climate not really very cool yet. Pple are already dressing up for autumn. This can never happen here.

This is going to be a long entry. ha... shall update more tom. Heading for Mambo first party tonite. whoo.... I am very curious to see how zouk has re-done its flagship at 17 Jiak Kim Street. Hopefully it wont disappoint me!

Pre HK trip

12 hours from now. I will be in HK... hee.... Been to many places ard the world but not HK. Well, this is my virgin trip there. If you consider HK as China, then it is my second time there after 1998. Wow... very long time ago.

Anyway, went to change HK currency this afternoon. I realise something very funny. Their dollar (yes i know peg to USD) were issued by several banks. As such, HSBC issue its notes, so do Bank of China and Standard Chartered Bank. I cant believe it.

Except for the colour, the design looks pretty different. Initially, i tot it was issued in different series. I am wrong. Ok, call me "sua gu" if you like. Imagine SGD being issued by DBS, UOB and OCBC... ha... more vibrant rite. Nah... i think MAS is doing fine. Pple can get confused.

Woke up this morning to find out Mrs Abdullah (Msia Prime Minister's wife) passed away this morning. I was shocked cos she was pretty young, only 64. I guess Mr Abdullah must be in grieve. They had been together for 40 years. That's long! Senior cabinet members from Singapore were there. I saw PM Lee, SM Goh, DPM Jayakumar, President Nathan and their spouses. I would say we really treasure the strong relation with our friendly neighbours in the north.

Life moves on. I will be in bed soon. Got to wake up early! It's my maiden flight with Cathay too. I hope to see pretty stewardess, good food n good service...whahahaha.....

Whoo hoo

Whoo hoo... Whoo hoo.... Whoo hoo.... 10 good days away from work starts now!!!! whahahah.... I have been looking forward to this day since last month. I felt so fortunate and happy when i stepped out of office today. It seems like a "jie tuo"! ha... Sounds as if i had tendered my resignation. Well, if that is going to happen in the forseeable future, the feeling will be even stronger.

Blasting mambo music on my player now. Feel very high since i can sleep soundly without thinking wat is going to happen tom. How nice. Will be heading to Raffles Place or Toa Payoh to change HK currencies. Jun was asking if my holiday mood has set in, well, i feel ok only. More excited abt escaping from work. whahaha....

Did a little planning with Ken regarding HK trip. Think we shared the same idea, to comb every tiny bit of hk. We would like to sample everything. We even planned to venture into New Territories or outer islands which not many Singaporeans go. hmmm.... tat is wat i call travelling. Most pple hang ard Kowloon n HK island. I do agree life is more vibrant over these places.

Since this is my first trip to HK, i guess i would prefer to see many things. As for food, it should not be a problem. I speak cantonese so it wont be difficult to me. Thanks to TVB serials. whahaha.... Attributes to my HK colleagues too... Picked up cantonese faster. Oh, able to communicate in Hokkien too... whaha... multi-talented.... blear.....

Problem being Underweight

I was reading an article from ST abt being underweight. Somehow, i feel very related cos i was underway during my teenage years too. The unemployed business grad who was featured in the article was 52kg when he was younger. Poor me was only 50KG!!!! I cant believe it! I was so skinny till i felt disgusted.

When i moved on to poly, i met my competitor Ken. Wahaha... We were both underweight. Shit! Whenever we looked at our old photos, i cant stand it. That may be the reason why we used to wear long sleeve to school. (to cover our puny hand n wrist) Well, i am still slim now. Just slightly above underweight. I just met the minimum requirement for average weight according to BMI standard.

Besides underweight, i had an acne attack. This scare the hell out of me. Went to see dermatologist. Prescribed some washing foam and anti biotics. Din really heal but slow down the growth. I even applied traditional methods like using tea leaves to wash. I was very upset that time. I tried all sorts of facial wash. NO USE! That is the reason why i gave up using facial wash. I have lost my trust in them COMPLETELY. Eventually i relied on clean water.

Seems terrible. Anyway, it's over. Shall not think too much. Was chilling out at home when i saw my classmate Michelle appeared on TV. OMG! She was featured in Te Xie as the form teacher of a paralysed student. I found her very familar but her name was in mandarin. Well, obviously i dunno her chinese name. Till i saw her English name, Michelle! Wahaha.... It was her! Time flies, din know she became a teacher too!

Perfect 10

Training is over! I am now back to normal. It has been a fantastic week so far. Pick up new skills, did challenging stuff, more importantly did things that i have always wanted to. I have mentioned it over a few entries. I know i keep repeating but i could not help. For the first time, i get "real" satisfaction from work. ha... my potential may be here....hee...

Went harbour front last nite. The place seems to be unusually cool. Air con was high which really made jun and i freeze. We escaped to a more open environment. Well, we could actually see Sentosa while we stood at the particular location. Cool! However, there were no benches or seats. We stood there for sometime before leaving. I guess the authorities should do something. Any pple from LTA?

Counting down to my trip to HK. Exactly one week from now. Din really have the holiday mood yet. The only thing that i am looking forward is 10-day break from work. oh.... how nice. During that 10 days, this is what i expect.

1. Trip to HK
2. Zouk first Mambo Party after re-opening
3. Halloween Party
4. Stay away from work

Hahahahhaa........ I love the last one. A long deserve break. Of course, my passion for travel is still there. Too bad no one is free, if not, i can go KL after my trip to HK. whahahahaha..... Travel freak!! Madly in love with my holiday break....whoo........

Satisfying Moments

Did many satisfying stuff this afternoon. I wont really say i have seen the all clear light yet. But it's definitely a good learning experience. I have wanted to learn more things. For once, i am able to do things that interest me a lot. I felt like one of the good old days in SR. Of course, personally i feel that SR is still the best. hee...

Time was well spent over the last few days. Getting wat i wanted to do, then chill out as usual at Dbl O. Gavin was back! Ha... Good life, went overseas and get to experience downunder. He said temperature was only 13 degree. I was like wow! I would definitely love that. A totally different kind of feeling if u get there. Cooling temperature. I hope HK would be very cool too....

Party till wee hours. Music was not bad. However, halfway thru the song, there was a spot check which somehow dampen the mood of everyone. Cos everyone was so high when the lights came on! Well, as abiding citizens, we cooperate with people from the home team. Our safety and security lie in their hands! When the music came back, the dance floor was crazy. All swayed into action immediately. Me too, cos i would not want to waste my money!!!

Cheers!!!

This is one of my happiest day at work. Did wat i have always wanted to do. Although i am erm... , it is a good learning experience. REALLY FUN lor. I really hope there would be more opportunities like these. Can die with no regrets cos i have tried!!!

Anyway, was at toa payoh today. Saw a traffic police who booked several pple for jaywalking. Aiyoh... They were mostly female. OMG! I wonder if they saw the TP. He is so tall, standing next to the traffic light, yet pple ignore and challenge his authority. DARING!

Another work day before i go for my break. I am already anticipating it. Oh yes, was toking to jun the other day when i realise i will be in HK in another 2 more weeks!!! Wow... so happy! Really call for a celebration this time...

Still the Same

No time to update my blog over the last few days. I maybe purely lazy. Work has been the same. Everything has come to a standstill, no movement. Perhaps a standoff? Something happened in the morning which keeps me thinking all these while. My search for greener pasture is not over yet. Did a few checks, no reply yet.

Over the last wkend, i had an enjoyable time. The dance theraphy was good. Release my stress entirely as the music went on. Surprised to see Mulian and gang. They were having good time with their friends. I joined in n then something happened. Shall not elaborate more on that. Anyway, i was on the middle of the platform when it happened. Stunned and disbelief!!!

Been a good uncle too. Jordan was here for his little "vacation". Well, his grandma was away from home and we had to take care of him. Brought him to CP many times, travelling with him on LRT and watching cartoon with him. He was satisfied. I guess kids get happy very easily. He grew close to me and would come lying on my bed. He has gone home yesterday. I guess i will see him during this wkend. Till then....

Deserved Break

i had a wonderful 2 off days. Life is good without work. No worries, nothing! On Thurs, went FF to chill out then stroll along Orchard Road. Great feeling cos i got no work!!! As i walked, i felt an inner peace in me. So, it true that i like urban life. If u ask me to go hiking, away from urban life, think i will stress even more!!!

I think thru wat happened over the last feel days and months. Well, in short, it's just life. I either choose to face it or leave the place for good. Haiz... there's nothing much i can do. Then little Jordan came and i had lots of fun with him. Brought him to CP. This little brat dare to tell me he had been here in the morning. He is sick of the place. GOD! Imagine a 3 yr old kid telling you that!!!

This evening, went Esplanade as usual with jun. Interesting. Less crowd i supposed. While we leave, the queue at DXO was long. I wonder if they play RnB on friday nite. Headed to Upper Thomson for supper. Upon reaching, i realised it was the same place that Jun mentioned to me. The place that my colleagues brought me to on tat fateful day.

Very crowded. Surprisingly, they were many youngsters. I am surprised many young Singaporeans own a vehicle. No, probably it was their parents' car. If not, there must be some rich kids ard. I mean if i dun own a vehicle, i wont take a cab there to have supper. Not that rich lor.... The mushroom cheese prata was nice. Good choice! One more off day left before my next working day. Will enjoy myself to the fullest!!!
