Farewell 2005

In another 24 hours, it will be a brand new year. Went thru some of my previous entries and realised i really went thru a lot. Ups and down. My life became so unpredictable. So decide to give myself a good break and gone for a shopping spree. Ha.... Feel so good!

Bought a sweater cum shirt for myself in anticipation for new year. Got myself a new gym membership. Leaving FF for good after Jan. Will be with PF till 2007. It's time to change and move on. Anyway, it's cheaper to own PF membership. Went for a little tour and find the environment conducive. Able to access more branches too. Feel good again!

Intend to cut and highlight my hair later, ushering into new year. I hope to do something for a change. I din do anything to my hair this year cos i tot erm... shall not elaborate further. Since i cant do much, decide to change my hair a bit to make myself happy. Been a long time since i last colour my hair. It's time to change. Feel good once more!!!

It's New Year eve and i am going Countdown party with my friends and love ones. Can party till the nite. In addition, the theme is mambo jumbo, which is also my favourite. And tat adds to the excitement. I guess the regulars will be there. Should be fun and lots of laughter. Feel good one more time.

I hope to end 2005 with a happy mood. In 2006, everyone will be in high spirits and no more anxiety. Happy New Year! May all Wishes come True!!!

Achievement 2005

Was chatting over dinner with my colleague last evening when i realised i was not the only one who felt lousy at work. And that makes me wonder, even under such an environment, there are pple who are able to stay long. I began to ponder. I came up with 2 reasons.

1. The passion for work
2. Stable income

I cant think of a better reason to see why pple could stay in this industry for a very long time. To credit myself a little, i am almost turning one by jan next year. I cant believe wat i did. It's the biggest Achievement in 2005!!! I remembered i was very disturbed when i first started. I managed to survive!!!

Working in a team coming from different background and age is a huge challenge. I bet most pple dun have such an experience unless they are working in an "ancient" company. The key word is "tolerate". However, i also know that when u tolerate too much, u end up being crazy or mentally disabled. ha... So find a way to destress urself.

Read from the papers abt Yu Tian's son, Ken who suffered from some metal illness after being condemned in a variety show. No doubt he is young, i am surprised he could not take the criticism from seniors. Probably overly protected from his parents. I understand he used to take drugs. Is his behaviour related to his withdrawal symptom or wat? i dun really know. One thing for sure, if he is over here, i guess he would have died long ago.

Achievement, that is wat i would named it. I applaud for my courageous behaviour. ha... Another few more days to 2006. I cant wait for the countdown party at Expo. It's going to be fun!!!

Cheers 2005 Part 1

Taking a risk to blog in office again. Another busy day! Just arrived at office waiting to be slaughtered later. whahaha... Wanted to blog at home but it seems that i will sleep very soon once i reached home. Since i have the time, i might as well make good use of it.

2005 has been a coaster roller year for me. I have achieved what i wanted (if you read what i posted last year) but in some way felt regretful. To be honest, i still miss my SR days. Whenever i see my ex-colleagues, i always tell them to cherish the moments there. No doubt they have pple like Miss S, colleagues were so much closer. Whenever i hear Jiayi or Jiafa mentioning abt going out for KTV or JB, i somehow feel disappointed with the "intelligent" decision i made a year ago.

It has changed my life. I am faced with tons of work stress plus emotional challenges. It is not easy to handle but i guess i am doing alright so far. To destress, i club and head to gym. Yes, almost every wkend u find me at Dbl O. Alternate days i will be in FF. Whenever possible, i travel. Some may find them expensive, but i enjoy it very much because i feel inner peace and away from work.

I dun drink yet i club so much. siao ah is it? Why? Of course there are reasons. Cos i love dancing. I pay for the music. Ha... The loud blast from the music bring my stress away. Not forgetting a few pple who supported me all this while. Here's the credit roll.

***2005 Honours Roll***
Platinium: Jun
Gold: Kenneth
Silver: Lilian
Bronze: Kevin

Of course there are a few others who helped me a lot during time of crisis. The name list will be very long so i shant mentioned it. You have made a difference in my life this year. The road ahead is long. I am only a quarter there. Cheers to 2005!

Tsunamis 1st Anniversary

Came back from my workout from FF. Went shopping before that. I was procrastinating whether to buy a shirt for myself as a New Year Present. hee... Anyway, saw Fann this afternoon. Hmm... Indeed a pretty girl. Her complexion is particularly good. I wonder why some pple are just so fortunate and lucky. Me? aiyoh...

Tuition was ok. Gave my student some work to do. Receive my tuition fee. That also means extra income for this month. I find that giving tuition is a good way of getting extra income. At the same time, u are given the oppt to work with student. I find it quite fun. However, there is downside. You feel the stress if the student is unable to comprehend.

It was Tsunamis first anniversary yesterday. Areas that were hit by the killer waves held memorial services. The courage, resilience from the people made them grew stronger. People are more united and closer. People gathered in remembrance for the dead. It was pretty emotional. Strangely, in Phuket, there were more foreigners. It seems tat once again, pple focus their attention on the westerners.

What abt the locals? Thai? Sri Lankans? Malaysians? Indians? They were equally devastated. I mean their homeland were gone, loves one were killed. They are pitiful. Thankfully, international community is pouring in help to tide them over the crisis. As a citizen leaving in a peaceful country free from natural disaster, i feel very fortunate. Afterall, Singapore is a place to call home.

Ministry of "Sound"

Claimed to be the best club in town, Ministry of Sound, hit the streets in slightly more than a wk ago. It was meant to be fun with 5 halls playing different genre of music. As curious Singaporean, i wanted to see how it looked like. Went with ken and it was a TOTAL disappointment.

In terms of Hardware, MOS has indeed done a good job. The main arena was huge. Double the size of Dbl O? Four platforms in all, with a fantastic sound system. However, the music they played was not my cup of tea. Ok, at least it is better than Hall/Studio 54 (Retro music).

As a die hard mambo aka retro fan, i was shocked to learn the kind of music they play in studio 54. Cant believe my ears. They are really retro but songs that we never heard before. Very strange kind of music. The setting looks funny to be too. I dun really like the deco in the retro hall. Sucks!

What abt the crowds? I thought it was a new club in town, so many will flock to see. At 9pm, the queue went all the way to the taxi stand. Looks great and promising. Then as the nite went by, the crowd changed. Ken said, this place attract 3 kind of pple, "ang moh" or expatriates, gay and lesbian. I AGREE. Many gay and lesbian couples were there. Not a few but A LOT.

"Oh, hi, this is my bf" (from a guy whom many girls will dream of)
"sorry my dear is drunk" (from a woman who dressed entirely like a man)
"yeah, i kinda like this place"(a blonde hair european)

Well, were the music meant for them? I do encounter straight couples, maybe 60% or less? Disappointment. No commercial music was played at all. Every single club is playing Madonna latest hit. According to the crew, MOS is trying to be different from the other club. That also mean they play alternatives. Good try for being different. I seriously doubt how long it will survive.

Anyway, i took a limousine taxi home for comfort. Then again, the driver was too talkative. I was talking to Ken when he kept interupting. Aiyoh.. We ended up remain silent till the end of the journey. At least, there is still something good abt the driver. ha....

Driver: Which school are u in? or working already?
Me: working!
Driver: Wow u guys look young! I thought u were schooling or something. Finish NS already?
Me: yes... hee... (very "song" in heart)

It's time to sleep. Need to work in the morning too. My preference for work is there. Will get another off day on tuesday. Will be getting myself a new shirt. New year present. ha.....

Santa is HERE!

Alright... I din blog for a short period of time. It's either i am lazy or no time. Another reason to excuse myself from blogging is due to the ailing computer. Haiz... Give me problem once in a while. I have to bear with it till it shuts down completely.

Suppose to return home straight from work on Christmas Eve. Cos i worked late, secondly wanted to avoid the crowd and queue in pubs and club. Boo... I know. My friends were laughing at me for the reason i gave. They said excuses. But that was really wat i meant. I have already made up my mind for home when Gavin gave another attempt to call me.

Gavin: come leh... We are waiting for u!
Me: nah... dun think so. I dun want to stuck in a jam.
Gavin: take a train. Larry is here
Me: hmm... I am over at Thomson leh. No MRT
Pass the phone to Larry
Larry: Halo. how r u bro? Why arent u coming?
Me: it's late lar....
Larry: Wat late! This is a special occasion. Dun disappoint us. Come now. See u later
Me: ..... (phone cut off)

I was pondering and contemplating. Ok. I went. So ended up celebrating my Christmas Eve at Devils bar. Still the same old devil. Not much changes. The lead singers are still there. Din see the regulars. Everything seems so familiar. Toilet hygiene, more room for improvement. Now even worse, spoilt lockers. I wonder what Mr Dennis Foo has been doing. It was pretty fun. A change from Dbl O for a short time.

Anyway, it's Christmas. 7 days before the end of 2005. Lots to say and reflect. Will keep it for another entry when the day is drawing near. Oh, Lunar New Year is also here soon. Almost one month from now. Fast. Time is moving quickly. I hope for greener pasture in the year 2006. Can Santa fulfill my wish?

Quick Update

Whoo... Off days are over. My next off day will be on Christmas. Bleah... Better than nothing. Need to work non-stop till saturday ie Christmas Eve. Spent some good time over the wkend. Went Dbl O as usual, met many familiar faces. Eric was there with his colleague. It was fun.

Also saw one of FF's Personal Trainer. Not sure wat occasion, they were there wif a big gang and drank a lot too. Well, as the "Chang Zhu Jian Bin" there, we see different pple every week. Some were there for pure fun while others are trying to do something funny.

Saw this "transexual" or watever u like to call, damn disgusting. It is ok to do wat u want but spare a tot for others. I think most patrons could not stand him/her. Danced on his/her butt and shook her hair like no tomolo. I have to change my spot for him/her. Pui....

Back to my Christmas date, perfectly enjoyable. With a taste of Crystal Jade's all time famous Xiao Long Bao, plus the magical touch of Harry Potter, it made our day. Some wonderful and quality moment spent wif love ones. I like this kind of feeling. Great!

Anyway, the theatre was packed wif Potter's fans despite strong competition from Perhaps Love and Wu Ji. hmm.... Most theatres had taken Harry Potter off screen. Strange. Only a mth and they are removing it for some rubbish show. well....

Had a tough tuition session this morning. Somehow stumbled upon a qn from my student. Tried to figure out his problem. The qn was tricky and it took me half a day to solve it. I wonder if i tot too much. It's a O level qn but i went too far till Poly or even University standard. whahah..... I must learn to see from an O level point of view.

I guess i overestimated the qn.... It challenges my mind. But i doubt the student will see from where i think... whahha.... They only need to learn the basic not the advance level. So much for tat.... Will have a good rest tonite before embarking on my work tomolo. Long wk ahead.

Wkend's Here!

Christmas is round the corner. I see many pple shopping for gift till no tomolo... whahah.... Retail must be doing very well. Everywhere i go, i see pple with their hands full of shopping bags. Well, its probably the wkend before Christmas, everyone is rushing for their last min shopping. And i got to work on the eve... Bleah....

MOS open its door today wif five new halls. It is much bigger than the most popular club Zouk. I am pretty interested to see how different is the place. Reputed to be one of the top club in UK, it should be a fantastic club. I hope its fate wont end up like most club. Strong initially... died down later....

It's another working day for me on saturday. But i got a 2 day off after tat. WOW! Can skip the meeting on Monday. So happy. ha... Moreover it's wkend FINALLY!!! Mum will be back in the morning say 7am? I miss her n her cookings. ha.... No more takeaway food, no more instant noodles. Yippee....

What's up?

Alright. It has been some time since i last updated the blog. My computer is still in an unstable condition. I had difficulties connecting to various website at times. I will sent the computer for repair once the entire system is down permanently. My back up file are ready.

On the issue of star award, Zoe has been bombarded by many viewers for her ungraceful moves on stage. Sad to say, her motive to add entertainment to the show backfired. Not many appreciate her actions. What i have predicted came true, she lost her usual self. Many Singaporeans shared the same view with me.

However, as time passed by (though i dun like the way she behave in Star Awards), i began to pity her. Complaints kept pouring in everyday like no tomorrow. Whenever i flipped over one of the Chinese Tabloids, there is bound to have new complaints. I think we should be more forgiving. What happen has happened. Fann even defended Zoe. Well, i think it is time to close the case.

Party at Dbl O last sat was fun. Surprisingly, Chin Yin and Liyan were there. The interesting part was Chin Yin came and stayed till 3am. She is very sporting and party wif us the whole nite. Before that, i need to stress on something. She is not the type who "cheong". This is her virgin trip to a discotheque.

I asked why she wanted to come. A very simple reason, to personally experience for herself how it is like in a dancefloor. I respected her. "Try everything once" That was wat Weiqiang told me. hahaha.... As for Liyan, she is a veteran clubber. She has retired from scene abt 4 years ago. To her, it's nothing new except reminiscing old times at Ridleys. Oops... the place has closed since donkey years ago.

Preparing to work. Still no mummy's cooked food. Has relied on instant noodles to keep me going. ha... Will grab a bite before heading to work. Another 2 more days before my next off days. Wait patiently....

Corona YEAH!

Was out with jun for dinner last nite . Before tat, i spent most of the time sleeping at home. Wanted to go for a swim but the weather din permit. So took a little nap. Decided to head gym after nap but oversleep. Gave it amiss and met jun straight. Life with mum away for holiday is tough cos no dinner and lunch serve. ha... Miss mum cooking. Ate lots of fried rice n instant noodles. hmm... Going to become my staple food soon. Need to do household chores but my bro helped to do most of it.... ha...

Anyway, was out at Zouk too. Met Ken and his colleagues. Then one of his clubbing friends came abt and danced with us. Funny guy. I am not sure if he was drunk or high. Keep shouting and shouting. ha... He seems to be well liked by many girls. Well well... He claimed that he saw me many times at dbl o. But i have no impression of him at all. His "high-ness" made our day enjoyable. Too bad Ken was pushed down the platform many times. I nearly fell off too...

A bottle of corona made my day too. I simply love it. Unlike Tiger, it does not taste so bitter. I was thirsty and down one bottle. Feel so satisfying. It was drizzling while i returned home. This taxi driver was chatty. He finds Ken n me very 斯文, doesnt look like the type who clubs. ha... But we told him, clubbing scene has changed. It is no longer places where Ah beng or Ah lian will hang. University students are patronising, i hear more Engilsh speaking clubbers. (dun get me wrong, i am not hinting anything, i speak mandarin and dialects too)

Work going to start soon. xianz.... Saw an email from the boss. All eligible staff to receive AWS at the end of the mth. FINALLY!

Star Awards Debrief

Disappointing Star Awards! Not because of winners or losers but things that happened in the show. First, i wonder wat's wrong with Zoe. Kept popping out as and like with no respect for the president and CEO. Yes, she is the queen of caldecott, however, i dun think it is appropriate to behave in this manner.

Yeah, it is supposed to be a party, but Zoe's reaction was far too much. She cried when Hanwei won the Leading Actor Award. Then, she jumped out again when Christopher won the Top 10 Male Artise, making fun of him and Fann again. I wonder what happen to her? I remembered Christine Chung was praying to her when she gave out the top 10 female awards. No respect for the guest either.

Her successor, Fann is also another disgrace. Her relationship with Christ is opened, i feel she should be more gracious abt it. Look at Singapore's darling Stephanie Sun, she declared her relationship when it started, she faced it when it failed. Life moves on. Bear in mind, Stephanie has a bigger market in Asia if compare to Fann.

I was extremely disgusted when she walked away while the program went on air. No matter how hard, she should sit at her seat, remain compose and smile. Well, artise knows how to act. She has been in the industry for more than a decade. Strange.

By walking away, it reminded me of a scenario like this. A couple who hold their hands, closely let it go all of a sudden when they saw someone familiar. How disappointing!!! To quote Health Minister assessment on NKF issue, I will give Fann an A for her looks, F for relationship management. I cant believe a girl would do this to her bf. tsk tsk....

I pity Christ. I used to dislike him. However, when i looked at the way he handled the situation, i am pretty impressed. He is embarrassed but remained gentleman n cool. That is wat i call PROFESSIONAL!!! My respect to you, Christ!!! Wat happen to our Hollywood babe??? Haiz....

Not much exciting thank you speech. Those usual boring kind of speech, thank u MR JANG, yes i heard that. And who's ah MOON? Oh, the cocktail reception wasnt anticipating. Getting the Superstars, Super Host, Star Idol finalist for the show is unnecessary. **FAINT!!! NO VALUE ADD to the audience at all. I cant believe it. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT!

PS: I am not condemning the production crew. They did their best. I am just disappointed with artises and wanna be.

Tuition Assignment

Trying to blog in office at this hour. Taking a risk now cos someone may pop by n find my blog. Oops... then i will be in deep shit. All thanks to the sickly computer at home. I had problems logging in again. haiz.. Been pretty busy lately as usual. Yep, got to do my favourite reporting again. Hee... My guest was a doctor. Very well versed with good articulation n made politically correct statement.

Oh, took up a tuition assignment recently. I was to coach POA at O level. Well, i guess i have not forgotten my accounting principles yet. Need to read up a bit to find out wat the syllabus are. The most impt thing is an additional income!!! Ha... Can afford a better lifestyle this mth. Anticipating for bonus. Hopefully my company will declare an amt similiar to civil service.

It's sat!!! Time to party again. Received a call from Ken this morning to confirm his attendance. Well, he missed his session last wk. Can relaz again. It's Star Award tom too. I am glad i can stay at home to catch. Who will be the top 10 best male n female artise this yr? Wat are they going to say??? Need to catch up with michelle n gang before rushing home to see. Another off day gone. Argh... Mum is on a 2 wk vacation to India n i have to share the household chore duties with my brother. Well well... tsk tsk...
