Cabinet Reshuffle

Tiring Sunday after all that clubbing from last nite. It was quite fun as Dbl O launched a theme party. Most regulars turned up, some regulars from zouk came as well. So interesting. Really dance till very high. Had some wonderful drinks too. Mel bought me a blue mountain which i consider it a powerful drink. Yang brought his friends and we were all partying like till no tomolo. How good would it be if life is not abt work but fun?!

This morning when i woke up, i realise our cabinet went thru a reshuffle. Well, maybe not exactly a major reshuffle. Shanmugam has been named the new law minister. Impressive move! I have heard so much abt Shanmugam and how he fought NKF case. He has been a very popular lawyer with witty and agressive move. With now moving into politics from the private sector, i think it brings new ideas into the cabinet.

Then my question is wat abt Pro Ho. hmmm.. Really leh. I tot he would be the next law minister when Prof Jaya stepped down. Anyway, tat's a choice by PM. Smart move to rope Shanmugam in. I think he is cool! As for the rest, there arent many surprises. Gan Kim Yong to take over Dr Ng Eng Hen as acting manpower minister. He has been given several task as minister of state le. The senior ministers are still there, so its a mixture of old n new ministers. Like wat SM said, there must be a balance in the cabinet which i also agree.

As wat many had said, it is more like a conservative cabinet. No significant change to the exisiting cabinet. The new line up reflects upon PM's decision to use more senior ministers to spur Singapore further. Perhaps he is satisfied with the existing cabinet. Tats y it came as a surprise when none of the ministers retired, with only one new minister added. hahhaa..

Its time to sleep. Too tired le.. Need more sleep to push myself tomolo. One more day then i would be able to enjoy my off day! :P

Strange Phenomenon

Pretty relax today as i had a late assignment. However, that also meant a short deadline. I was in a hectic mood when i reach office at around 6pm. Then phone calls came and i was like... Rush thru my work and it was done in 30 mins. That is the challenge of a late assignment. I had more free time during the day but more stressful towards the end.

The venue was at Downtown East. Oh man! The place have undergone upgrading and it is different from wat it was 10 years ago. There's now a multi storey carpark, more shops and even eatries. I guess it would be good if we book a room n stay there. hahahha... The facilities are impressive. Really.

Many strange things happened today. First it was hailstone. I got a shock when i heard residents in Ang Mo Kio saw hailstone and was hit by them. Ha! For Singapore to experience hailstone is like WTF??? Our weather is so hot, yet hailstone descended upon us. Cant believe lor. Some even think there are naughty kids throwing "ice" one them! OMG! I mean if it was me, i would have felt the same way. Who could imagine hailstone falling from the sky? We should get some weather expert to comment. Very strange sightings.

Then the Singaporean SUV tat skidded in Malaysia, left one baby girl, who miraculously survived. I am like OMG! Only 2 mth old baby girl! However, her parents, brother and grandma were not so lucky. 3 were dead on the spot while the baby girl's father passed away in the hospital. The poor baby is now all alone. Very sad. I guess her relatives are on the way to pick her up. She wouldnt have known her parents are dead. So upsetting. Over night, she became an orphan. I hope the baby girl will grow up strong and healthy! God bless!

A Fool

Sometimes I really feel extra, trying hard to help but eventually end up in a pool of deep shit. True enough, the more you expect, the more disappointment you get. I feel when i treat some pple well, the return i get is almost nothing. I know one shouldnt expect any return when u r out to help but i just couldnt stop myself from thinking abt it.

Just feel like a fool. I hate this kind of feeling. Mumbled to myself on the way home. I kept telling myself not to be a fool anymore. Yet time and again, i lost myself. Such a disgrace. I have gone thru the same shit many time and yet i commit the same mistake. The only reason, my character. It must be this character that shaped wat i am, if not, i wouldnt get hurt so many times.

Have been hearing a lot of stories lately. I am thinking where i stand. After hearing all the happening stuff, i take a step to reflect. Have i ever done the same thing? Honestly, i dun think so. Instead, i have pple who did "disservice" to me MANY times. Dearie said "disservice" was a strong word. I disagree.

我掏心掏肺对人,换来的只是一场空!有些人良心不见了,我还傻傻地等,以为这只是个梦。现实就是现实。人不为己,天诛地灭。我看这场游戏还会持续下去。。。

I Werks!

Yeah! Went to Singapore Discovery Centre I Werks Theatre this evening with dearie! hahhaha.. So far at Upper Jurong Road, almost close to Tuas Second Link le! OMG! Need to thank CK for sending the invitation over. The movie "Spiderwick" isnt as bad as i tot. For a fantasy movie, i consider it an interesting story.

As for the five storey movie screen, i guess Omni Theatre is still better la. However, if you compare it to a normal theatre, the screen is definitely larger. The sound effect is also a lot better. I am impressed. Other than tat, it is just like any other normal theatre. I am not sure abt the capacity but there were only 15 of us this evening. ha! A large theatre to only 15 customers when dearie and i got complimentary tickets! Nonetheless, we enjoyed the show!

Then, it was quite a nice experience to visit the west again. ha! Brought me memories of NTU days. We headed Pioneer Mall which i have never been when i was in NTU. hahhaa.. When i was back in Jurong Point, i got a shock! So many foreigners! Bangladeshis and Chinese! The area was literally flooded with foreign workers. It's like a mini United Nation!

I guess that got to do with all the major constructions going ard that area. The new bus interchange, Boon Lay MRT extension line and probably the construction of the new flats. No choice. We need them for our construction industry. If not for them, we wont be able to live in comfortable HDB flats and world class transport! hahhaha... Anyway, an eye opener after leaving NTU for more than 3 years!

Truth about Life

Many things have been moving too fast recently. I guess all that fast movement have ignore the feelings of many. I din know wat to say, but obviously, there are times you simply felt unfairly treated when you did nothing wrong. I told ken, this is not the first time we are being treated this way, more than 10 years ago, we already encountered such incidents.

After so many years, we face the same problem again. I just felt uneasy at times. I knew it will be hard on many but that is the truth! I wouldnt say human are perfect, they erred. Sometimes, one just find it hard to accept the truth. haiz... However i do believe, 人在做,天在看的道理。You can choose not to believe, but wat goes rd will come rd. So....

On a lighter note, i went clubbing at zouk on wed when David invited me. hahha.. A couple of us went, including new friend Ges. This young lad happen to be my junior who also knows the mambo moves very well. Jeffrey and gang were there too. I think he is damn gian at zouk lor. It has been some donkey weeks since we went zouk le. hahahha...

On the wkend, it was at the usual place. Dance and get high! Forget abt all the stress at work and those silly interpersonal stuff. hahhaha.. It was fun. Not many turned up. However, Ken went and we partied till it close. He was drunk! hahha.. Well, it was his bday and i tot he might want to let loose a bit. Fun la.. Cos kenny performed again! hahahhahah....

Tourists' Destination?

LTA has revised its plans to allow taxi to pick up passengers along non-bus plying route in CBD. OMG! I cant believe it. Yes, no doubt it will bring convenience to more passengers, it also reflect badly abt their initial plans. I am surprised no proper plan or even pilot test was carried out prior to the implementation of the new regulations.

On March 1, all taxis in the CBD can only picked up passengers at taxi stand or private buildings. I was pretty skeptical abt the new rules. How will handicapped and elderly passengers react? LTA has built more taxi stands, however, passengers may need to walk up to 400m to find one. It will be tough for these pple.

Secondly, what happens if it rains? Some taxi stands are well sheltered but not all. We cant expect the passengers to wait in the rain. Pple catch a cab for a single purpose, convenience. If not, pple would have taken other public transport like buses or MRT. Complaints and feedback were given but LTA has assured that for public safety, it is worth the effort.

Finally, wat abt our tourists? STB has actively promote Singapore as a tourist destination. The new rule did create some problem as foreigners are not familiar with our system. They might stand naively on the road for taxis. Somehow, it work against our plan to remake Singapore into a better place.

Some taxi stands had long taxi queues. Eventually, it will jammed up the road. Isnt tat a problem too? There are so many outstanding factors tat need to be ironed out. However, it seems tat all were done in a rush with inadequate planning and poor management. I certainly think it could have been better. True enough, rules have been amended. The amended ones look better than the original one.

After the hooha, the situation still need to be monitored. The authority may have to be more cautious the next time before they introduced other new regulations.

3 days Outing

I was out the entire day with Ken as we roamed the streets of orchard and suntec area. As usual, we gossip everything and anything under the sky, from our poly days, to work to relationship to our new and old friends. It seems that we have endless of topics eversince the day we started conversation in SP.

Back to sat nite fever, it was totally different from what i have expected. Many turned up! I tot only a couple of us will be there. Leon msn to check if i will be going. I asked him along. In the end, most came except a few who are away. Ha.. We drank like crazy. I was treated to 3 tequila shots. Then down a tequila pop and housepours. wah.. Really drank like crazy. I have not been drinking lately cos of work. However, my threshold is high, i am still managable despite drinking so much.

I wasnt really drunk, just good enough to make me high. Was toking quite a bit and disturbing kaz. hahahha.. So fun! It has been sometime since i really enjoyed myself. Many things did happen recently. I was quite affected. Things have improved since then. I hope it will turn for the best. Ken came too. The initial plan was he wanted to give it a miss cos of wed dinner. However, it was SK bday. He rushed over after the dinner. Eventually, we had great fun.

On Friday, i finally had a post bday celebration with dearie. hahhaa... After all tat hassle and Project M, it is time to have fun with her le. hahhaa.. We were out at Fisherman Wharf tat evening. Nice dinner! I think dearie's salmon fillet taste better. We had calamarie too. All fried food! whahhaha... After which we proceed to St James!

Yeah, it was then we had a drink in the lounge and started to gossip abt pple who clubs there. Aiyoooo... I really feel very young leh. hahaha. We were at the Bellini Room. Nice atmosphere, cool setting and fantastic Jazz band. Singapore idol Jessica Taylor was there. Powerful voice. In between the live band performance, they played nice music too.

We were at this table at the end of the bar. There was this group of aunties with an uncle. OMG! I mean it is ok for them to club. I have nothing against them. It was when these aunties started to get drunk and it turned ugly. First it was talking loudly, then it was a show of MERLION! omg! They were downing Vodka shots lor! wau lau! Straight away merlion within a few minutes. I think they are lousy drinkers.

I tot it was water when i saw this auntie merlioned. Dearie said no, she really threw out a lot of things. It stained the chair. It was when the smell came! eeeeeeeeeeek. I cant stand this kind of smell. I asked dearie to get out of tat area quickly. Too pungent! Its damn funny lor. The group of aunties created a big mess there. hahhaha...

When the band ended, dearie and i went for a dance. Dearie said i can shake very well! :P I told her i am not call a dancing king for nothing! OMG! So thick skin! hahhaha.. Ok la... I enjoy dancing mah.. so nothing wrong abt it. We dance to RnB and finally adjorned to Harbour Front for some peaceful moment. Really nice evening. I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Thanks dearie for everything! I really appreciate that! Still 25 la.. remember? hahahhaha....

Drama-mama

So looking forward to tonite! whahhaa.. Yeah! Finally had time to celebrate my BIG day with dearie lor. Due to Project M, I have been very busy since late february. To think of it, i am still quite stressed over the long jams at the causeway. I will never forget the 3 hour jam that i experienced in Tuas second link. Its over le!

When i resume work on Monday, it was more like a sign of relief. During that period of time, i din really had much time. Most of the time was spent rushing ard or thinking abt wat i should do next. Though in between i did went for some drinks, but i was totally shag out. Work has indeed taken a large part of my time. The worst thing is when pple are enjoying, i will be working. whahhaa.. Thats the norm!

Back to a Drama-mama story. I have been hearing stories recently abt a friend who is madly in love. What should i say? Being so drama-mama has been his/her forte? Thru many stories this person has revealed, i really think the entire saga is DRAMA! From previous relationship to current one, it has never been a smooth journey. It could be wat the person said retribution. I do agree it at times. I am a strong believer on retribution.

Sometimes, in a relationship, or perhaps many, there are not many dramatic factor. It is a matter of whether you like or you dun like. If you are not keen, then move on with life. The danger part is when you are unsure what you want. Well, i do find that there are many pple in this world that are really unsure what they want in a relationship. Seriously, they might be high achievers in their job, but when come to handling relationship, they are just as good as kindergarten kids.

I shall not mention abt the younger ones, even pple of my age are also weak. I wont say i am expert either. However, i dare to say some friends of mine are really disappointment. I really feel like calling them "toh huay siao". (loosely translated: without girl or guy, they feel meaningless in life.) I still do not think life is all abt relationship. There are many things in life to be achieve. Be it your career, your hobbies, your studies or even care for the society.

Nonetheless, this drama-mama of mine is simply interesting. I had the gut feeling of a repeat in history. It is still too early to say anything. The opposite sex has character. I tot that is cool. I dislike someone who dun have his/her own principle and merely listen to wat his/her partner says. Many would think girls usually fall into this category. However, i would say, guys commit the same problem too. I have close encounter with both sexes. It did made my blood boil. hahhaa...

I guess these pple had too much time in their life. Like wat ken said, we are busy till we had no time to think abt other issues. These pple are simply free to keep their tots running. Time is very precious to us. A single phone call can sent us to heaven, sometime it may be hell. You wouldnt want to be disturb during your off days. Sad to say, it can be quite bad at times. Haiz... Anyway, i will be having a few days off the next few weeks. Hopefully, i can enjoy myself to the fullest. My motto in life, to live life to the fullest!

Gombak Execursion

Attended a medal presentation ceremony this afternoon at the invitation of Mel. It has been some 3-4 years since i last went to Gombak. The last time i went was when i did my IPPT. Another time was when i was there to collect something. Wah... Really long time ago! As usual, it was raining heavily this afternoon.

We had no choice but to travel on a cab. Gosh. Time was early, so we went for a short chill out. There was a little saga when i arrived on the venue. I almost couldnt got in cos i was in jeans. I cant believe the place had such strict rules. I was pretty pissed when they turned me away. However, thanks to a few phone calls that i made. Everything became a breeze. whahhahah...

The place brought me some memories when i was still a NS boy. hahha... So funny. To come as a civilian is really different. The ceremony was so-so. I guess the incentive is more on the monetary side. haiz. Well paid officers and specialists. I do envy them at times. Most came on 4 wheels. While i survive thru my work, they are high achievers with excellent pay. haiz....

Oh yes. A trip is coming again! hahahaha... Will be visiting the kingdom! Yes, to see my second wife. hahahha... Will be there to relax and get away from this place. Too much had happened lately and i need a short break badly. Travelling has been my hobby. So its time to fly again! hahahha... Manage to secure a good deal for airfare. Damn excited lor. Shall confirm with the agent in the morning! Excellent! So looking forward!

BN Shocking Defeat

Although we were once a country and separated by the Johor Straits, I have been following the Malaysian election closely. I went clubbing last nite when the election committee count and tally the votes on polling day. For a moment, i was not following the election while indulging myself in the lights and songs of Dbl O.

When i was on the way home, i heard news report from the Malaysian radio. Shocking! Disbelief! Should i say Malaysian voters are courageous voters? I think they are! Malaysia Boleh! This is the first time in 50 years tat Malaysians have chosen opposition to run 5 states. PAS managed to maintain Kelantan for another 5 years.

For the first time in history, Penang, Perak, Selangor and Kedah states assembly seats were taken over by the opposition party, PAS, PKR and DAP. In parliamentary seats, Opposition had denied two third majority from Barisan Nasional. This is the second time after 1969 election, where BN fails to win two third majority. I was almost in shock when i heard outgoing Penang Chief Minister Koh Tsu Koon announcing his party defeat and his lost on the parliamentary seat. Gerakan and MCA lost big time this round.

Honestly, i think the long campaigning period did gave the opposition some advantage. Secondly, wat Malaysians wanted is something fair and equal rite among all races. Recent issues that were brought up this time are against the ruling coalition. The indian protest in capital, people unhappiness abt crime, economy and rising cost of living. True enough, Malaysians wanted a change. They translate their actions into votes. Very courageous.

Barisan Nasional has undoubtly suffered a major setback in the 12th annual election since independence in 1957. This has also sent signal to Singapore that no one should be complacent abt their ruling power. The ruling coalition, if unable to provide stability or create unhappiness on the pple, they will lost their stand one day. This is an important lesson to all.

Now, wat is Malaysia future. Former Deputy Prime Minister Anwar has promised a change in Malaysia. He said a new dawn has emerged for Malaysia. He praised his pple for voting them in. With the opposition coming in, what form of changes will take place? It will take a few years before things start to materialise. If they fail to make the change during 5 year term, i am sure BN will make a comeback, to retrieve what they have lost.

Project M

Pretty relax this afternoon after a hectic rush on last Sunday. I came to office with ideas on wat to write this time. After some hard tots, i began on my assignment. I completed early but had to wait for my other colleague to come before i can proceed. I spent some time waiting while planning some stuff that i need to do on Thurs. Yep, another JB trip.

Headed to gym after work. GOSH! Very crowded on a Tuesday evening! Well, there are many times when i avoid the peak hour cos i knew gym will be packed. True enough, when i reached at 7pm. there were like 20-30 pple in the gym. That's a lot for a small sized gym. Nonetheless, i manage to find a place to work out. Have been eating a lot of rubbish recently, so its time to sweat and work away those unwanted stuff!

4 more days to go before the end of the Project M. I am so looking forward to it. I would like to take a short break seriously. Might consider a short trip in April. hahaha.. To reward myself for working so hard in March! hahhaa.. Time to head to bed. Time flies and we are already in the third month of the year. Fast leh.. First quarter of the year is almost over! wah!

BIG occasion

Finally had some time to blog abt my bday. Yeah! It started last friday, when i came back from JB. I was on an assignment to visit some kampong in JB. The lunch at one of the duck stores was good. Really. Now i know why Singaporeans love to go Skudai. There are fantastic food outlets. If anyone drives and would like to go Skudai, i can always bring them ard! hahhaha...

I was back home by 730pm. Dead tired. Had dinner, subsequently fell asleep on bed. Yesh, that was how i spent the extra day of the year. It was till 9 plus when i woke up suddenly cos Mel asked if i was ready to go to his place. I washed up and went over. 2 hours before the BIG day, we gossiped and went to grab some tidbits from Rivervale Plaza.

Kr came before midnite. hahha... They went out of the room quoting funny reasons. I guess i know wat's going to happen. However, i was busy replying to SMS from friends and dearie for the BIG occasion. hahhaa... They switched off the lights and brought in a cake! It was a chiffon cake but decorated by didi himself. There was chocolate cream and strawberries. So touched! To be honest, no one has ever done tat to me in my nearly 30 years of life.

They sang me bday song and asked me to make a wish! hahha.. Very simple wish! "HUAT AH!" That was what i shouted before i cut my cake. hhahaha... 吃在嘴里 甜在心里!It was a very special moment for me. That reminded me in 2002 when i first celebrated my bday with NTU gang. I still remember Ed, Gavin, Wanqi, Mulian popped by my room with a cake at the stroke of midnite. How can i ever forget tat? This time, its different cos the cake decoration was handmade.

Then it was time to drink. We had 3.5 bottles of red wine. I was pretty high after 2 bottles. Halfway thru, i fell asleep cos i was too tired from JB trip. Kr and Mel drank the last bottle and they became damn high lor. When i woke up at 4am, they were still drinking. But beer instead! OMG! I joined them and could see didi already drunk. hhahaha... He was toking funnily and was hugging me so tight! so did Kr! hahaha.. so fun! Everyone KO eventually.

On the actual day, i was back in office working. By evening, i met up Ken and we headed to Dbl O. Wow! Many came and gave pressies lo. I love david. So cute. He gave me a lunch box and a pen holder. hahha.. The funny part is he wrote something pretty touching in a note. Nice of him. Xiong xiong also came at my invitation. hahha.. Cindy and gang gave me pressies too. So lovely of them. Kaz came pretty late cos of work. He almost couldnt make it :P

I din drink much cos i need to go JB at 530am on Sunday. I merely dance and entertain the gang. However, i also realise something was very wrong at the session. It seems tat a few of them are having some emotional problems. I dunno wat went wrong but ken kept asking me. I could sense it too. I choose to ignore cos i din want a joyous occasion to be marred by some unhappy incidents. I am very pan-dang! hahhaa...

Nonetheless, the event turned out great. Everyone left at 330am. I headed home, took a shower and i was back in action in JB again! hahha.. I reached checkpoint at 615am. It was a breeze. No cars, no jam and nothing. It was smooth. This time i have to find my way to Skudai cos my other colleague who was driving had never drove in Msia. hahhaa... Thankfully, i still remember my way. I think i will be a JB resident in time to come. hahahah...

I reached the venue at 640am. While waiting, i catch some rest in the car. I was then brought to a "Kway Chap" store for breakfast. hahaha.. Nice leh. Then work began. Walked ard the market area and some hawker areas. Weather was hot. Drank a lot this time as i know i will be in a place that i am more familiar.

Spent the whole afternoon walking ard under the sun. Tired. Bear in mind, I din sleep on the previous nite! I was still alert! Manage to finish my assignment by noon. I was back in office at 2pm. There was no jam on the way back to Singapore too. Heng ah! I tried to finish work asap so tat i could return home for rest. I manage to do it! hahhaa..

Till this morning, i slept for more than 10 hours. Still feeling restless though i slept a lot. hahha.. Its my off day and i will take more rest before rushing out again this week. Last week to my project and i shall endure till the end!
