Busy Week

Tuesday is my first working day of the week. It has a been a very busy day since i stepped into the office. I was preoccupied with work, more work and more more work. There was no time even for me to take a short break. First it was meeting, then it was some other project, then it was administrative stuff. Argh...

Attended a wedding dinner last night. Wow! Quite a historical break-through. However, it was very bitchy throughout the session. I shant go into details. What really surprised me was pple can be extremely pretentious if they choose to be. It was an eye opener for me. I guess not many pple would get this kind of opportunity. Well, once is enough. ha...

Taipei trip is up in less than a week time. Yep, it is the second trip within a month. Anyway, it is time for me to unwind in a place outside Singapore. Really looking fwd to it. I would call it the post graduation trip of NTU. ha... This is the second time i am travelling with my NTU mates after the Thai trip in 2004. How i miss those days. Too bad Ed is not joining us. If not, it is really a reunion of good old times.

Strange People

I was thinking what can change the mind of someone. Though we are not very close in the past, that does not mean it will remain that way. I wonder if it was love that change the character of the person. In the past, she was quiet yet cheerful. Now, vulgar and sombre looking. What happen?

Chatted a few times. Could not derive anything out from it. I remembered talking to her once and she ignored me. I was like WTF. I can be a nice guy if you are really nice. However, i can be equally nasty once i am provoked. One minute, she is so nice to you, the next minute, she is as cold as ice. How true that woman changes her attitude quickly like a chamelon?

Well, maybe its her temper that turned off many of her bf. When one is bad, everyone in the gang also looks bad. They are already not young anymore. Yet, behaving like young teenager. I had enough of them. The next time if i ever meet them again, I will remain nonchalent. One word to describe "Suay"

Re-Opening of Madam Wong

Before i even start blogging, i made a daring move to switch my existing blog to blogger beta. Not much change in terms of the outlook of the blog, but change in terms of the administration and execution of the blog. Better interface, with more colours and larger fonts. Seems good, wonder how google will benefit from it.

Ok, back to Madam Wong. Yep, it has relocated to magazine road, which is opposite Club Momo. Initially, I thought it occupied Club Momo. Nah, I was wrong. It occupied one of the shop houses opposite Club Momo. It just happened that they are in the vicinity of Central Mall. Quite a nice place, i would think it is slightly better than the old Madam Wong at Mohammed Sultan Road.

The dancefloor is more spacious, unlike the old one which is cramped. The lounge area is not too bad, however, still not as good as Dbl O lounge. They have a balcony which overlooks club momo. That is a plus point for them. It was a clear sky last night, i could see many stars.

Free flow started at 10pm. It was a long queue, as usual, Kiasu Singaporeans. Ok, i admit, i am one of them too. So Ken and i rotated to queue for free drinks. I drank quite a lot last night. 12 glasses or 3 jugs. I wanted to test my limit, not too bad, i survived. That means i can drink quite a bit. whahaha... Inherited genes.

I wasnt too drunk but high. The music made my day. Ken and i partied to the podium, took a break then drink again. Cos it was free flow, there were many leftover and untouched drinks. In the end, they ended up in my stomach. whahah... It was fun. By 3am, i was really high and tired. I sat at the balcony, sipping vodka orange. It was heaven. Many pple were gone by that time. I had some personal time to myself, chilling out under the clear sky.

Oh yes, once again, the world is small. Met a few friends there. One was a regular from Dbl O. He was with his friends. Ha... He received the invitation too. We chat a bit and i realised he is only there for the free drinks. He left early for Dbl O. I told him, since we are going on Saturday, i wouldnt want to waste my friday on Dbl O too. ha....

I also met Gavin's friend KC. He was with a friend. This guy also received an invitation. Ha. I think he likes retro too. He was telling me whenever there is retro, he will see Ken and I. I reckon that applies to him too. Whahaha... That is why i always say, never do evil stuff, cos you will never know one day you will bump into someone you know. Peace out!

It's Heaven

Alright! Went to Marina Mandarin for an assignment today. This is the first time i stepped into their presidential suite located at the highest floor. Oh my goodness. The room is so fantastic, with excellent view of Marina area and well equipped facilities. I really din want to leave the room cos it was so nice.

They have two plasma tv, one in the bedroom, the other one in the living room. It could rotate between the bedroom and the bathroom. So when u are taking a bath, you could literally take your time and soaked yourself in the bathtub while watching tv. If you prefer the standing type, no problem, there is another shower room where you can see the skyline of Singapore.

Not only to tat, there is a massage chair right in the room. The bed looks so comfortable and i felt like sleeping on it. The living room is beautifully decorated and have a meeting room attached to it. I think such suite is really suitable for big CEOs and senior government officials.

I was told the room cost S$3500 per night. Ha... Its not even my monthly pay. Dun think i can afford it. My mum was saying if we strike a $2-million lottery, we could book the suite for a few days. ha... Dreaming only. Anyway, even if it is their superior room, i think it is not cheap either. It would cost at least S$200 per night or even more. For the facilities, i think it is quite a deal. ha....

On a lighter note, Ken called me to attend the reopening of Madam Wong. OMG! I thought they close down their business at Mohammed Sultan for good. I was WRONG. They relocate their battle field to Central Mall, where Club Momo was. Ha. Cant believe it. He received an invitation from Madam Wong to attend the grand opening.

So i was also invited! I heard there will be free flow of drinks from 10pm till 11pm plus. Whoo hoo. Free drinks. I like it. It will be another night of fun and dancing, a prelude to the usual Dbl O on Saturday. I love my weekend. Yeah!

Bye Bye Game Addict

Pretty tiring over the last 2 days. Was under the hot sun for an event yesterday. Though i enjoy sunbathing, however, it is uncomfortable to sunbathe in shirt and pants. whahaha... Met some interesting pple that made my job easier. If it was like tat most of the time, it would be lovely.

Anyway, i was home quite early, so it was not too bad. Little Jordan came over and has been staying over since Monday. His house is under some renovation. For his safety, my sis also jordan's mum decided to put him at our place. This little boy glued his eyes to the gameboy from day to night.

Haiz. Kids thesedays are really so different. They are only concerned with computer games. It will keep them occupied the whole day. However, i dun really condone to such act. I prefer to see my kid running ard, enjoying his childhood moments. Computer game will only make one addictive. Unheathly at all.

I admit i used to play lots of games too. There was one day when i suddenly realised its meaningless to play games. Somehow like an enlightenment. ha. Most of the time, we want to win. In the event tat we lose, we reset the game, shut off the power etc. Then what is the point of playing?

Afterall, we are simply challenging the mind of the person who invented the game. I have decided to give it up once and for all. Ok, shall end here. Jordan is here again, pestering me to accompany him to sleep. ha... Nite nite!

Love vs Work

Love depends on Fate
A friend of mine, whom i get to know recently was out of love. Apparently, she felt in love with someone who i dun regard as a suave and outstanding bf. ha... Cut the story short, there was a third party that came between them. Now, the guy probably decide to jilt the girl. Haiz. In fact, i know the guy prior to the girl.

Seriously, I dun understand why girls enjoy having a relationship with this guy. Though he is a good friend of mine, there is really nothing special in him, that deserve the love of so many girls. I am surprised to learn that he has broken the heart of many girls. Ha. Is he a cassanova? I dun know. Even if he is, i am sure no one will ever think he is.

A cassanova is usually filthy rich, good looking, hunky and things tat girls can dream for. He has none of these qualities. If you are talking abt his character, oh well, maybe. However, u need time to find out more abt him. Strange enough, girls after girls, they felt in love with him simultaneously. This is probably the nth time he is broking the heart of someone for another person.

I was discussing with Ken when he pointed out, it's all abt fate. When your love fate is here, you can have tons of girls going after you or vice versa. When it is absent, no matter how hard u try, how many obstacle you overcome, you end up having nothing. I have seen many cases.

Work depend on Luck
On the contrary, it also applies to work. There are people who can use minimal effort or even do nothing, yet ended up with a good job. The way they switch job is like a click on the mouse. Others are searching high and low, from east to west, and eventually back to square one.

Ken said like love, it depend on fate or luck in this case. I have always envy on the luck of others. I have been trying all ways and means for greener pasture. What happened? I was hurt from time to time. Enough said. Both theories seem to coincide. I got to agree.

The world is funny. Once again, this is life. Everyone needs to get use to it. For now, i prefer not to think abt the unhappy moments. Though it is the first day of the week, i am looking fwd to many pleasant moment in the weeks to come. To achieve happiness is what i hope for.

Love at Harvard

Came back from office about an hour ago. I was catching Korean serial Love at Harvard. The usual korean kind of love story, except for the scenery. Tell you, whenever i watch the show, i really feel like falling in love. ha.... The production team brought the entire crew and settings to Harvard to shot the serial. Gosh!

I was able to relate this serial cos of the UK trip i went. That time, i visited Hao and his university. His campus was amazing. Imagine ur school in a colonial kind of settings, beautiful trees, nice scenery. I bet most students particularly international students will fall in love. Staying together in the hostel will probably strengthen the relationship.

Compare to our dear NTU or NUS, well, nothing special. I was telling jun the other day, there are so many slopes in NTU, how to cycle ard? Weather is so warm, how do you expect us to sit in open spaces? Buildings are too modernised, zero nostalgic feeling. ha.... However, love continues to blossom in a less romantic environment.

It's off day tomolo. I intend to wake up late. yeah... I had a long day on Saturday. Was at a company function early in the morning, then proceed to work. Ended my day at Dbl O. Remained awake for more than 20 hours. Another record after last wed.

Back to Dbl O, it was pretty fun meeting up the regulars. They miss me. whahaha.... Eric and gf were there. We had fun partying together. Then, it was Joelle. It's her birthday and i had the honour to dance with her. Chill out at lounge with the siblings after 230am. It was relaxing. Work hard and play hard. That's the way!

Lovely Friday

Out again at Vivocity this evening with jun. So relaxing. I cant imagine myself dating in Myanmar. Spending the nite in a local coffee shop with little stools and blaring burmese music. Or perhaps chill out in a temple under a clear sky. ha... That's wat pple in Myanmar do!

I was joking to Jun, we could try dating at Bright Hill Temple. Cos its the largest temple and have large compound to facilitate dating. ha... So next time, dun go to the beach, go to the temple with your picnic basket. Only vegetarian food! ha... Very interesting lifestyle in Myanmar. Know something, this trip has left a very deep impression in me.

It will be a very busy day for me later. My company is hosting a retreat where all staff are required to attend. I guess there will be workshops, presentations and team building session. The downside is i need to work after that. Argh! Fortunately, i still have Dbl O to look forward to.

Miss one saturday last week. The regulars miss me. whahaha.... David was already msging me last wed to go zouk. Well, Ken and i eventually went MOS, which he din turn up. MOS kinda of suck last wed. Music wasnt as fantastic as the last time i went. Strange crowd too. Lots of foreigners. ha... I guess that got to do with MOS international brand name.

Alright, need to go to bed. More actions tomolo. Cheers!

Balance Life

I had a super long day on Wednesday. Thanks to the training i had on the past Sundays, it was put to good use. I could sleep only a few hours and stay awake for more than 20 hours. Very powerful. There will be another round coming up.

My tuition kid was having his last few sessions with me. It was a pretty intensive session. I get to see him almost everyday since i came back from yangon. I hope the last minute revision will help him pass his exams. This is all i can pray for. This was wat happened on wednesday.

8am Left Home for Tuition
930am Tuition
1130am Left tuition for PF
1pm Left PF for work
2pm Work
1030pm Left work for MOS
11pm Club at MOS
4am Reach home

It was a very tiring day. However, the day was well spent. Before i started on my career life, i told myself i need to have a balance lifestyle. I dun only work but also knows the art of enjoy. During the day, i worked very hard for monetary return. At night, it is time to cool off and chill out. Anyway, work has been hectic and stressful. I aim to strike a balance between both.

The trip to Yangon has really changed me a bit. Living in a third world country is not easy. I guess i should be satified with what i have. Comparing hurts ego, it is now time to tone down. Anyway, we are so used to the convenience and luxury of a developed nation. After seeing for myself how pple live on the other side of the world, i strengthen my belief, that is to live life to the fullest.

Back from Yangon

I am back! The trip to Yangon was indeed exotic. Never in my life have i been to such an unbelievable place. The place is still under martial law, pple are very careful of what they do and wat they say. There are many things that one have to observe, if not, one can get into trouble very easily. However, the pple are very warmth.

Let's begin with the first day when i arrived at Yangon International Airport. As expected, we have to alight the plane on the tarmac. A bus will fetch us to the terminal. Oh yes, i din take Myanmar Airlines, it was Jetstar Asia. ha... Both airlines codeshared, so it was Jetstar flight eventually. Strange enough, they serve free food onboard. I think that got to do with Myanmar Airlines. ha....

The airport is only served by a few airlines, mainly Thai Airways, Silkair, Dragon Air, Jetstar Asia and Myanmar Airlines. The traffic in the airport is not heavy at all. It's a small international airport, which is currently under upgrading. Weather is hot, i think slightly warmer than Singapore.

Now the interesting part, we are not allowed to wear shorts or sleeveless tshirt or even singlet in certain places. Why? Cos Myanmar is a buddhist country full of shrines and temples. If you ever visit any of these places, pls be in proper attire. If you are not visiting any of these places, then its fine.

However, i can tell you, the place has nothing much to see except shrines and temples. They have very exotic and beautiful temples, like Europeans who have wonderful catherals. There are not many shopping centres or even high rise buildings like in Bangkok. The highest building in Yangon is a hotel that have 22 storeys. That's it!

Come to shopping, shoppers can forget about coming to Yangon. There is nothing much to shop. It's unlike bangkok where u have tons of shopping places to go. There isnt much in Yangon. Anyway, even if there is, i guess you wont want to buy cos their stuff dun suit our taste. I can assure you.

Going to Myanmar, reminds me of sitting on a time machine, then travelling back to the early 50s to 60s Singapore. The roads are uneven, vehicles are in dilapidated state, public buses are like those olden days buses. Technology is not very advanced, with very little usage of computer or even internet.

With little entertainment, wat does the pple there do? They are very devoted buddhists. Everything revolves ard buddha. Lovers would hang out or "pak tor" at temples, sitting outside the temple and chatting thru the night. There is no starbucks coffee or coffee bean, they have their local version of coffee shop. Youngsters will be seen sitting in the coffee shop with friends chatting away.

For families, i usually see a group of them having picnic in the temple. Ha... Surprise right? They would bring along a mat, with lots of food, together with their children, parents etc and gather ard the temple. So after praying, they will sit somewhere near the temple and enjoy the tranquility of the place. ha... interesting.

The most memorable part of the trip was to visit the Golden Rock Pagoda. We had to take our bus to the foot of a mountain, then travel by a small lorry to mid hill, finally, it was by foot to reach the peak where the pagoda is. It was fun. The rock was magnificient. It has been featured on Travel and Adventure channel several times. I have finally seen it for myself. yeah...

When i reached home yesterday, i feel good. I have return from a primitive society to a modernize world. I really appreciate staying in Singapore. Everything is just so peaceful, so advanced and in order. It is always good to leave the country for a while, to see how other pple live in the other side of the world.

Pre Myanmar Trip

Packing done! In less than 24 hours, i will be visiting one of the most exotic place in Southeast Asia. Getting excited abt it, cos it will be my first time travelling on mynamar airways. whahahah... Never in my life have i tot that i will visit Myanmar one day. It did!

However, getting there is much of a hassle. They accept US dollars, and preferably in larger denominations and after year 2000 series. Troublesome. I have to get the money changer to give me the latest note. Thankfully, they had, if not, my mum will be screaming at me. ha...

Jordan came today. Spent some time with him. I realise i can be patient at times. ha... I was helping him with his homework. This boy, learning to write the alphabet "Z". He wanted to draw a zebra but din know how to. Well, his uncle, who is equally bad in art could not help. So we ended up drawing a cat more than a zebra.

It is time for bed. Need to wake up early to catch the morning flight. I guess i shall have macdonald breakfast at the airport. whahaha... Wait till i am back and update more about the trip!!!

Project Over

I am finally done with my project!!! It was such a hassle going ard asking for help. Thankfully, i have a few colleagues who helped me out. It was not easy at all. The idea of consolidating the entire project is scary. I was met with many uncertainties and unforseen circumstances. Really fainting....

However, in slightly more than 24 hours, i will be away from Singapore. Yes, its time to hit beyond the shore. More importantly, i can get away from work!!! whahaha... I really need a break. There were too much stress lately. I want to recharge and see the world again.

Too bad i wont be ard for Keith and Gavin birthday this weekend. The initial plan was to hold a drinking cum partying session at Dbl O. The birthday boy will be performing on the podium. Due to the trip, i will be absent. Hopefully, there will be a belated round when i am back next week.

Time to sleep. I still got some packing to do tom. I din have much time to pack over the last few days. Yeah, busy and stress over work. ha...

Forever Youthful

Another working day for me on Sunday. Boring! Many stuff to do when i reached office. First, i have to confirm a "date" with someone. I just hate going ard to beg pple. Its not my forte. Fortunately, it turned out well, phew! Then it was time to make the necessary arrangement. Well well...

On a happier note, i had an excellent time at Dbl O. Before that, i met up with jun and spent some quality time together. haha.. I showed her the article that nearly made me famous overnight :P Yeah, the blog entry that was featured on the papers few weeks ago. Hee..

Then it was time for Dbl O. Drank black label, thanks to the recommendation from Ken. Then it was some mixed tomato juice with tequila, which was very sucky. Thanks to the contribution from Larry. Oh, i was introduced to another friend of his, Kaz, whom i always tot he is only 22. I was WRONG! Looks are deceiving.

For goodness sake, we were born in the same year! whahaha... Well, i am not too bad either. Before i could even say anything, he tot i was only 24! whahaha.... Good, that made my day. Know why? Cos i look young too! Both of us are "yao guai" except for ken. Kaz was not surprise Ken look 27. I wonder if that got to do with smoking. ha...

So we chatted a while, then i realise we have common friends. After all, we were born in the same year, we worked in the same field, so most likely we may have some common friends. I was right! We partied, drank and joked. Time passed quickly when there is laughter.

Oh by the way, the three of us, ie Ken, Kaz and me got to the podium and dance. I could not help but keep laughing. 3 uncles happily dancing away the night. whahaha... Come to think of it, it is damn hilarious. David was also keen to teach me his dance step. Still trying to learn. He shall me my master.

Finally, its 2 more days to Myanmar. A good break from work. I hope i can finish my work by tomolo and leave with ease.

Less Desire = Less Sufferings?

I was browsing thru a few of my friends' blog when i saw an entry which he had written months ago. I was stunned for a minute, after recovering, i realise what he said is pretty true. If you have less desire, you will have less suffering? However, subconsciously, you still have that irritating desire.

He said we should have less desires in life so that we would have less sufferings. I agreed with him. But the problem is we subconsciously have a lot of desires - buy flat, eat at nice restaurant, perform well at work, earn a lot of money, gain admiration from others.

The other problem is, we like to compare ourselves with others. When we do comparison with others, we might desire to do better then others and this may add on to our unhappiness when we cannot attain it. However, if we do not compare ourselves with out peers and work hard and strive harder, people will think of us as slackers, poor performers, incapable employees.

So how true do you agree? I guess this is part of life and we have to live with it. If we are free from desire, we would have attained enlightenment! It is not easy to renounce from the world. I was having a conversation with mum abt this issue.

If there is ever one day, i no longer have the desire to
- earn more money
- find better job
- get married
- travel
- party
- shop

It is time to declare that i have renounced from the world. I have seen thru everything and is free from desire. haha... I seriously doubt i can. Now, we know not everyone is suited to be a monk or nun. It is never easy to overcome all kind of desires. I will have to live with what i have right now. well well....

Travelling Again

Cool. My boss gave me a day off, something that i hoped for after going thru the rough patch recently. I need a short break. Officially, i am granted 3 days off. Yes, i needed it so badly. I think it is time for some destress-management. ha...

Collected my air ticket and itenery for the upcoming Taipei trip. Yes, this time with Gavin, Chin Yin and Liyan. I bet it is going to be fun. It is a little reunion of the NTU gang. We have not really planned the places we intend to visit. Well, i think i will do a research after my trip from Myanmar. whahaha...

Weather in Taipei should be perfect for pple like me. Low temperature, less humid and outdoor aircon environment. whahaha... Been looking fwd to Taipei after my trip to US. The 8 hour transit in Taipei is just unforgettable. Roaming ard in the airport and even blog thru one of the free computer terminal. This time, i should be able to go sightseeing.

Before Taipei, i will be leaving for Myanmar, one of the most secluded place in Southeast Asia. The trip is due in less than a week. hee... I think the place still falls under martial law, thus it's exotic. It should also be a relatively new travelling experience for me. Will be visiting many holy sites and i hope the aura will bring me better luck. ha....

2 holidays in a month. I love it. It's a repeat of the travelling experience i had in March. Bkk then Bali. whahaha... I broke a personal record. To travel 5 places within a year. Never in my life have i tried this before. Achievement!

Getting Stress

My vacation date is getting close yet i am feeling stress. There has been too much work pouring onto me lately. Besides the normal stuff i did, i was tasked with more work. Well, it is fine to do more, but sometimes i am really suffocating. Am i really so bionic?

I guess jun must have been frightened by all my workload recently. I was complaining to her most of the time. Could it be i am not handling the stress well? I tot i have given my best shot. However, when things are not within my control, i feel lost. I dun really enjoy this kind of feeling.

To be truthful, somehow, i was given the chance to prove myself. I am not sure if it was the right time. Long ago, I wanted to do it badly, it may not be the case now. It somehow faded as time moved on. I wanted to progress, sad to say, it was not easy. From time to time, i failed. I could only blame it on my luck.

A colleague was asking why do i travel so much. For a simple reason, to get out of this place and learn to appreciate things in life. Why do i club so often? People said i am addicted to clubbing. If it was the initial years, i would probably agree. Not now for sure. I treat clubbing as a way to escape from reality. More importantly, get to know funny pple who i know will not affect my life.

If there wasnt clubbing or travelling, i guess i would be a less cheerful person. There are times that i feel strangled. The burden is so heavy till i wanted to give up. Thankfully, many pple gave me their moral support. If not for them, i would have given up long ago.

This seems like a stress entry. ha.. Nevermind, i shall look fwd to my greener pasture and holiday. whahaha... It is time to hit dreamland soon. Night!
