Happy Bday Bloggy!

I almost forget about something! Its my blog's bday! whahhaha.. 4 years and more to come! My first entry was on 25 July 2004. wah! Isnt tat long enough? I am already so used to this blog. All my feelings, all my thoughts are reflected here. It is a record of all my previous memories. I realised things have changed so much over the last 4 years. Happy Bday Blog!

Went drinking last nite by the invitation of Eric. Was at winebar. Chill a bit as his friends bought tons of drinks. wah.. Its damn scary. From Lambo to long island to vodka ribena to E33 to beer..... We really drank to the fullest. Eric bought his few colleagues. We had a good time gossiping. Then Jas said i am so DIVA!

I AM DIVA?!?!?!?!

I laughed uncontrollably when she suddenly made such a comment. She said i knew how to dance with my legs and hands. hahaha. So syncronise and nice. I am like.. erm... There are better pple out there. I know its suppose to be a compliment but the word "DIVA" sounds wierd to me. hahahaha.. Anyway, it was fun hanging out with them.

Its finally end of July and its moving on a busy month. I can see things falling on me liao! hahahah.. Work and more work! I presume i should be quite busy over the next few months. I hope everything will run smoothly and probably be rewarded if possible. LOL! Ya rite, i think that would be in donkey years time. hahahha....

Perfect Off Day

Woke up bright and fresh this morning after turning in at 1230am. hahha.. I really had sufficient sleep last night. This morning, i decide to give myself a treat and head on to Macdonald. Yeah! Anyway, i had some coupons. hahha.. I decide to use it and end up having a heavy breakfast. Shiok. Big Breakfast plus Macmuffin! So yummy.

After breakfast, i wanted to head home. Then i realise there was a big sale at G2000. Yeah. Most shirts and pants are going for 50%. Really! I bought myself new pants and 2 shirts. This adds on to my new collection of formal wear. It's damn cheap lor. Shirt cost $29 while pants cost $33. I feel so satisfy after the retail theraphy.

Big Foot Chua dropped by office yesterday. Shiok la. Bought some nice pancakes. hahaha... Just when i had some free time to spare, he popped by. Well well... Gossip a bit. Hmm.. I seriously wonder wat does a real relationship mean to him? hahah.. I know he reads my blog and i am curious. I guess he is not ready to settle down yet. I think he needed more freedom! hahahha

I am watching 都是大发现 as i blog. Then they feature Mark Lee's wife delivering their daughter. OMG! I find it funny to be it on national tv. Giving birth is something private right? Then we have Vivien Lai, Zoe Tay and Jin Yinji outside delivery room. hmmm... I mean its ok to be there as they are friends. However, to put the show on national tv during prime time is so wierd.

I wonder what the producers are thinking. Is Mark the Caldecott King? hahha.. I mean if it was Christopher and Fann's kid, i can see the point. But Mark leh. No doubt he is a popular artise, i seriously think it look funny. Moreover, his wife is not in the entertainment field. I wouldnt want to feature my wife on national tv during birth time. hahha.. So wierd and unglam. hahaha... Probably his wife likes to be featured.... :P

Bday Weekend

It was a working weekend for me. I have been slogging endlessly for the past 2 days. Well, it has always been quite low morale for me when i need to work on both sat n sun. Though i din rush ard, i still had tons of stuff to do. I was so hungry by 5pm and gobble down my dinner quickly. A hungry man cant work. hahhaha.. I hated it when i have to sat at my desk.

On Thurs, met up with dearie n wen. Quite a impromtu meet up, i mean with wen. We gossip abt future trips and some relationship thingy. Ha... I love to GOSSIP. hahaha.. Anyway, i am inspired by her Hokkaido and Tokyo trip. I would love to visit Japan one day, preferably with dearie. Confirm damn nice and shiok. I think autumn or spring will be a good time. hahhaha...

On the last 2 days, it was bday party. Yep. Starting from Fri, it was Irvine's bday. He reserved a table for us at dbl o. It was so nice of him. The package include a henessy, black label, some red wine and a bottle of champagne! We partied and drank quite a bit. I was slightly tipsy but under control. A few regulars came. He received a lot of presents lor. Overall, it was fun. Then i met another friend for a good supper.

The dbl o was away for a retreat in Batam. I opted out this time cos of work. Not many went on the regular session. Coincidentally, it was Jeffrey's bday. Too bad, most of them were away. Only Ken, Gavin and me were there. So was Adrain's gang. However, he was damn late lor. We waited for him so long till he arrived at 1am. Thankfully, it was the usual retro session. If not, it would have wasted our time. We drank a bit and then continued dancing.

We left early eventually and headed to another club. A friend asked if i wanna join them. So i obliged and went over for more drinks. hahha.. Ken went with me. We had a good time drinking and bitching lor. Oh man, i just love to bitch n gossip. Met some new friends too. Interesting bunch of fellows. Time to sleep. More work to be done tomolo! sian....

Caught Redhanded

I was working in the office while catching a few scenes from the 9pm serial. Whahahha.. I was laughing non stop when i saw Jessica Liu caught his bf redhanded with another gal on bed. That is the stupiest things to do on earth at HOME. How could a guy sleep with another girl at his own place???? Its damn stupid lor.

I mean even if a guy wanna 偷吃，it should be in a hotel or some other places. Chris is so stupid enough to sleep with the girl at his place, despite the fact that he knew his gf had a set of his house key. When Jessica Liu with their friends walked into Chris room, wala, naked with a girl. ooooh.... The friends were like WTF. Wat's next? If it was me, i would take out my hp to film, then ask them continue la, can make into a porn movie! hahahahhaha...

Are the girls really so cheap now? or is the script writer trying to seek revenge to all the girls? Apparently, 3 girls wanted chris so badly, i wonder wat they wanted? Is it relationship or just his body? hahhaa.. so funny. Then Chris is like best lor. 艳福不浅。Damn it, he already got a pretty gf Fann, now in the show, still work with pretty babes. hahahha...

I was telling dearie the storyline is so outdated. If i was the script writer, change to sleep with a guy la. More happening and probably reflecting our new society. hahhaha... Put Chris sleep with boy boy la, then let Jessica Liu walk into the room and SURPRISE! hahahah.. I am so bad. I mean since the show is already so rubbish, make it messier la. hahaha.. 唯恐天下不乱。。。 Anyway, the guy in the show is plain stupid. A disgrace to the male community. hahahaha....

Shocked! Disbelief!

I was shocked!

A friend of mine was charged in court for a common offence. However, wat distraught me was he's involved with some scandalous offences too. Haiz. I still remembered having dinner with him donkey years ago. Today, he appear to be one of the offenders in Court 26. If i was present, i will be too shocked to see him.

Ken called me early this morning to inform me of my friend's offences. I was already suspecting if it was him. True enough, my intuition was rite. What to do. Its useless to cry over spilled beans. I wonder how my other friend is doing. Seriously, i hope he is coping fine. He must be in a deep dilemma and stressful situation. I din wanna disturb him. I just hope things will turn out good for him.

It was a mad Friday for me. I was rushing around for stunts again. hahhaa. As usual. Nothing spectacular but an indepth to my knowledge on maids. hahha.. I din know there are so many procedures to get a maid. With the revise legislation, i think it will be expensive to hire a new maid. I would choose not to if given a choice. I dun really like the feeling of having a stranger in the house. hahhaa...

Its another ROM ceremony again on sunday. Well, this time the couple is a good friend of mine. Both were my NTU's classmates. I wish him and her blissful marriage. So looking forward to it!

Wedding Bells Again!

After coming back from Hong Kong, I attended Lynne's wedding on Monday. Pretty grand! It was at Shangri la. Many colleagues turned up including former colleagues. Most were pretty dressed. Some guests even took the oppt to take photos with some of my colleagues. hahhaa.. So interesting. We were treated to a sumptous dinner.

The montage is different this time! hahaa.. Exactly the way i like! No photos of childhood days, no photos of secondary school days. Yucks. They look so unglam. hahha.. I wouldnt want my old photos to be featured. Instead, it was replaced by wedding photos taken during the day. Cool. Another point to note is the marching in of the couple. They din get any 花童， neither did they add dry ice effect. Wat they did is, put on a stuning music and a gorgeous walk in. Fantastic. Not conventional yet appealing.

I met Kae at the wedding. Well, we were former colleagues. She is still working at that place. So we started catching up. So much changes took place. GM have left and is now replaced by a new one. I understand she's a dj personality previously. wow. I think life is different after SB left. hahhaa... I congratulated Kae on their latest listenship.

For the first time, it came in as the top 10 radio station in Singapore. Wow. I was so happy when i learnt that the station garner a high listenership of 7.9%. I mean in my life there, i have never see such a high rating. I guess the music and strategy which Lina took was right. The formula worked after the revamp last year. I wish even higher listenership during the next survey!

To my surprise, SPH owned 1003 and 913 fell to almost bottom. They were once very powerful stations especially 1003. During the NTUC days, listenership shot to as high as 18. Those were the days. After SPH Mediaworks stepped in, the station maintained its position. Their listenership hovered around 7-9%.

They started roping in Wenhong, Anna, Leng Kee, Limei, Poh Poh, Shihan, Danny Yeo. Somehow, the formula din work despite getting all the senior Dj personalities. I would say their program by the veterans are good. However, those programs hosted by younger Djs did turned me off. I got irritated by a few, so there are times i will switch to other stations. I missed the olden days, when they have youfa, mc, yongmei, jiujian. Glamourous days. Nonetheless, i still wish my former company better ratings!

Bought HK back!

Hong Kong is indeed a lively place! There is no way this little island can match Hong Kong's vibrancy except for safety. Though we are similar, yet we are far apart. I simply love the shopping and sipping a cup of coffee at The Peak. I mean we cant have such luxury here at home. Shop closes early and everyone is force to go home or movies or club. The city brighten up at nite which is something we strongly lack.

In HK, there are plenty of shops for you to walk even till midnite. Well, not only there, there are so many beautiful places for you to have supper. Unlike here, Macdonalds? Newton Hawker Centre? Chomp Chomp? Boring! I can have buffet or even steamboat at the middle of the nite! I guess if we have better nite life, i would have given up clubbing totally. I am a nite person, the nite life in HK never fails to amaze me.

This time, i headed to Tai O, a fishing village, which i din go during my last visit to HK in 2005. Shiok. The rural life is peaceful, the place is surrounded by beautiful mountains and nice sea view. I strolled along the quiet river as well as walking thru the stilt houses. Wonderful experience. I took the cable car up to Big Buddha in Ngong Ping. Equally impressive. This time, it was very misty and i have the feeling of being in paradise. hahha..

I was also in Macau too. The casinos are indeed grand. Venetian is a place worth visiting. However, it is not located along the main casino strip. It is way off in another place in Cotai. Most of the casinos are in Macau penisular. The oldest and local casinos are all there, with a few foreign casinos like MGM and Wynn. I am impressed with Wynn. It is exactly like the one that i saw in Las Vegas.

As for Venetian, it is somehow similar to the one i saw in Las Vegas too. It's a gigantic and majestic building. Since it is theme Venetian, i do agree it look like the original one in Venice. hahha.. I realise i have been there too! whahhaha.. Well, the best one is still the original version in Venice. I love Venice minus the crowd. hahhaa... The interior of Venetian is magnificent too. It is more like an integrated resort. There are restaurants, boutique and hotel rooms. Damn nice la. I wonder how will ours look like when it is completed in 2009.

I bought a lot this time. Really. 6 tops, 2 pairs of shoes and a bag. Ha! I guess it should be one of the largest shopping spree i ever had. Quite fun for all the retail therapy. Feel recharge after all the shopping, eating and walking ard. I love HK and will visit there again probably in the near future!!

Dave Teo Jail

I pity Dave Teo.

He was the culprit who caused alarm to Mindef. He was the one who sparked off arguments in Parliament. He was the one who escaped from Mandai Hill Camp. He was the one who wanted to kill his gf. He was also the one who caused his buddy, a pimp to be sentenced to jail and strokes of canes. He is Dave Teo Ming.

The incident tat occurred last year shocked the nation, particularly those who have served their national service. The security breach in Mandai Hill Camp led to Defence Minister to investigate the whole saga. A 21 year old guy, who is capable of smuggling out a rifle plus live round is DANGEROUS. Anyway, the judge has sentenced him 9 years and 2 months imprisonment, with 18 strokes of cane. It was meant to be a deterrance sentence.

While reading the judgement, Justice Tay Yong Kwang said something sentimental.

'Dave, you have had a very hard life.'

I suddenly feel very sorry for Dave. A person at this age, to spent his prime time life in prison. Once released, he is already in his 30s. This poor guy indeed led a pathetic life. He came from a broken family. He was often caned by his mother when he was a young schoolboy and his father was in and out of jail for various offences. His mum is a gambler too. At the age of 7, he was rejected by his own mother, who left him in the care of his paternal grandparents.

Teo's grandparents and aunt remembered how traumatised Dave was as a child. His mother would even throw chairs at him. Though no longer staying with his mother, his paternal uncle, who lived with him, would punch and slap him if he misbehaved during his teens. When he was 14, his younger brother was killed in a road accident. This caused Dave 'to spiral downwards with disciplinary problems'. He was filled with anger and hated everybody.

After these ordeal, he became a possessive bf. When they broke off, he snapped. That is when it ended up stealing rifle from his camp to kill his gf. Well, there are definitely up and down in life. His wrong upbringing and family problem adds on to wat he is today. I believe he could still change for the better but obviously, he chose the other way.

As wat the judge say, 'To everything there is a season."

There was a time when you loved, there came a time when you hated. There was a time when you felt you wanted to kill, now is the time for you to heal. There was a time you were broken down, now is the time to build yourself up. There was a time when you were at war in your being, now is the time to restore peace within. In spite of your difficult childhood and in spite of what you have done, do not every give up on yourself.

It was very sentimental for the judge to say that. I really feel sorry for Dave after finding out his background. I hope he will really listen to the judge. Do something meaningful in life that will help others. Despite having a rough childhood, tat is not the end of the world. I believe if he is willing to change, there is always opportunity. Let see how Dave will be in 9 years time...

Rushing Life

Felt so tired over the last few days. I have been rushing around to various places and its really tiring. I took cab home almost everyday, though i am not reimbursed for that. I wanted to reach home quickly for a good dinner and comfortable rest. I was like a deflated balloon lor. Travelling around to many places really stretched me a lot.

I was at Traders Hotel in the morning yesterday, then rushed over to Padang area for the same assignment. Weather is freaking hot and i was in shirt and pants. I really sweat a lot. Hide in the van most of the time. When i ended my assignment, it was nearly 3pm. It was till then tat i had my first meal! LUNCH! Very hungry! hahha.. I ate 3 tiny "ngoh hiang" during breakfast cos there was no time lor!

Same thing happen again today! I was at some govt office in the morning, then rushed back to office. In the afternoon, rushed to esplanade and Singapore Flyer! hahha.. Again! rush rush rush! I tot i would have an opportunity to go up the Flyer but no luck! I was in a hurry and miss the opportunity! Well, i guess i have to buy tickets to go up! hahhaa..

It was damn rush lor! I travelled between Esplanade and Singapore Flyer a couple of times. Wah! No strength at the end of the day! When i am done with all my stuff, back to office! Gosh! It was almost 6pm! Thankfully, i completed my task in time. Challenging but definitely satisfying. I am going to sleep early again tonite. hahhaa... Getting use to a normal executive life liao.... Sleep early, wake up early! LOL!

Half a Year

It has been almost a week since i last blogged! too busy lately. Went out with a friend for supper last night . Wow.. We really tok a lot. Had so much to bitch about. I reached home pretty late. The porridge at Maxwell market was good lor. After which, we continue to bitch abt life and everything. hahahha....

We have been having good food lately in office. Some of our colleagues were promoted. We were treated to some nice pastries and puff. I heard there will be more tomolo! whoo hoo.. Well, this year i din get any promotion. hahha.. In fact, not many were promoted this year. I guess they are more hardworking and really excel a lot last year. hahhaha... Nonetheless, as long as there is nice food, we wouldnt mind.

Half a year have gone. Its SAF day, HK returned to Mainland rule, Singaporeans receiving GST credits. hahhaha... It all took place on the same day. What have you achieve during the last six months. haha.. I am still the same except i really think the cost of living has shot up a lot. Inflation in May stands at 7.5%, one of the highest since 1982.

If you notice, price of basic necessity goods have gone up. However, our pay increment din match the current inflation rate. haiz.. It all started due to the high cost of fuel. The price for a barrel of oil now stands at US$140, which is triple the price since last year. It works like a domino effect. All other sectors in the ecomony are affected. Eventually, the consumer feel the pitch.

Sometimes, i do wonder, is the price of oil undervalued all these while? I mean demand for oil have been increasing over the last decade, but why did the price shot up all of a sudden? There will be market correction one day and probably this is the day. Price of fuel should have gone up steadily but it din.

Till then, when the market realise oil prices are undervalued, plus rising expectation, the price of oil will continue to increase. It will stablise one day when the prices are right. Well, how long will that be? Erm, i guess the oil rich countries are making big money now. hahha..
