Down with a high fever. Whole body was not functioning properly on Sunday night. One moment sweating, next moment shivering. I knew i am down with fever. Tool 2 panadols before i sleep. No use. Keep waking up every hour during the night. Argh....
By 7am on monday morning, i was soft like a jelly. Body aching, feel like collapsing any moment. Had to wait till 9am cos clinc opened at tat time. Switched on Good Morning Singapore and wait till the auspicious hours arrive. Feeling very sick, sat on the sofa and stare blankly on the screen, then dozed off.
8.45am, woke up suddenly and rushed to the clinic. Waited for almost half an hour before my turn. Damnz. I was so sick that i could not sit, stand or walk ard. Wanted to get things done quickly and get home. Finally my turn, doc diagnosed my throat was inflammed. Body temperature 39 degree celcius. 2 days MC.
And yes, this is my day 2 MC. Too sick to update my blog over the last few days. Although still feeling a bit wobbly, it is not as bad as sunday and monday. I can at least do simple chore like updating my blog. whahaha....
I had an off day on wed too. That means i will return to work on thursday. My off days started on last friday, then 2 days MC then off again. That means i enjoyed 6 days break from work. ha... Well, i am sick, body cant function, too bad.

Suay Por Effect
My second entry for the day. Ha... Decide to post something tat i find very funny. Written by one of the blogger who was frustrated by relationship. I guess it's common among many pple. Fortunately, i dun have to see thru all these, cos SHE is decisive and mature enough.
I would call the analogy below "Suay Por Effect"
***
This is just a general analogy about the weirdness of women:
Girl throws tantrums.
Guy: "hey sweetie pie, what's wrong?"
Girl: "NOTHING!"
Guy: "then why are you throwing tantrums?"
Girl: "NOTHING!!"
Since nothing is wrong, according to the lady, guy continues with his ways, which of cos angers the lady, cos SOMETHING IS OBVIOUSLY WRONG. Guy detected aloofness in the girl, and probes again. Girl says NOTHING!!!! again. So this happens a few times, and quarrels ensue.
as i said before we can't read minds. if we could, we wun need to study anymore do we? men are mechanical by nature (explains the huge imbalance of sexes in engineering/math faculties). We need to be told if something's wrong. i'm not saying we WILL NEVER KNOW what's wrong, just that making things clear would make things easier isn't it??? apparently that's not wired in women's minds. They expect us to KNOW what is wrong. They expect us to be know-it-alls. They have something up their minds, but all they can say is the opposite.
Guy: "Where shall we eat?"
Girl: "Anything's fine with me."
Guy: "Ok let's go Mezzanine."
Girl: "Dunwan."
Guy: "Ok then let's go have some sushi."
Girl: "I just had some a few days before."
Guy: "What about Burger King?"
Girl: "Fattening."
Guy: "SO WHERE DO U WANNA EAT?"
Girl: "Anywhere lah, you cannot decide meh??"
Dun tell me you never encountered this. Next one is quite common too.
Girl: "Hmm this top looks nice. Should I try it?"
Guy: "Go ahead!"
Girl: "But it's too frilly... Dun really like it."
Guy: "ok...."
Girl: "But i like the colour..."
Guy: "Then try it on..."
Girl: "But the cutting makes me look fat doesn't it?"
Guy: "No, looks ok to me..."
Girl: "CAN YOU GIVE ME BETTER SUGGESTIONS? WHY ARE U ALWAYS DISSUADING ME FROM BUYING CLOTHES???"
Guy: "..."
Happens all the time. To me, to you, to most men out there.
Girl: "My frens think you are fat/not gentlemanly enough/NOT RICH ENOUGH/not smart enough (take your pick)."
Guy: "Man that sucks. Do you concur with them?"
Girl: "No, of cos not."
Guy: "well i can change for you if that's wat you want..."
Girl: "nope i dunwanna impose any expectations on you."
Guy: "Ok...."
Girl: "BUT i think you really are a little fat/not gentlemanly enough/NOT RICH ENOUGH/not smart enough."
Guy: "ok then i will try and change..."
Girl: "But i really dunwanna impose ANY expectations on you..."
Guy: "in that case, alright then..."
Girl: "But... i need someone who is less fat/ungentlemanly/POOR/stupid..."
Guy: "OK OK I WILL TRY AND IMPROVE MYSELF!!"
Girl: "But i really dunwanna impose any expectations on you...."
Guy: "THEN????"
Girl: "WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING AT ME???"
Familiar? so you do want us to change or do you not?????
To men putting up with all of the above scenarios, i salute you.

Updates updates...
Yeah, it's time for my daily rumblings and shouts. Receive a welcoming call this morning. Could not get back to sleep after tat call. Jump ard in the hse for a min, then calm myself down, hoping to get more sleep. Too bad, the excitement rush was all over me.
Wanted to go for a tan in the early afternoon. When i reached hougang swimming complex, sky was dark. It tempted Mr Sun to rest for a day. wau lau... I was like took a bus back home. Change my plan and head to gym instead. Thankfully, there was no big crowd. That is why i love PF.
Met jun later to visit her SGH-hospitalised bro. Fortunately, he is recovering. Chinatown became the best place for us to chill out after tat. Had dinner then chat for a while. Life is so peaceful and relaz wif her. Great!
Sidetrack a bit, on wed, headed to Zouk for the first time this year. That was wat Ken said. Cos our last visit was in Nov 05. Long enough. Crowd has changed. Younger crowd, probably 8, 9 years younger. They are taking the rein of mambo.
The old mambo family is almost gone. Left are a few, really few old timers there. I guess when u reach a certain age, u will be out of the trend. So its true! Downed a bottle of E33 but not high. ha... Guess i have inherited drinking genes from my dad. erm... I dun drink like him. A little high will do, not drunk.
2 more wkends to go before my US trip. Change currency today. Rate was not too bad. Intend to change more next wk. My mum passed me some US currency too. She seems quite rich, imagine an auntie keeping US dollars?!

School Memories 3
Takes me 3 entries to finish abt my school life. Well, there are more to share but i guess if i keep on going, i may need 30 entries. hahaha... This final entry will conclude my full time education route.
University: NTU
My philosphy in life has changed when i stepped into NTU. It might be due to NS, or the hardship that i went thru in Poly, i dunno. I have decided to take a relaxed approach in school. Started to participate in many school activities, to compensate wat i have lost over the last few years.
I took part in cheerleading, publicity officer, hall events etc. The more memorable ones were being a cheerleader and stage manager for a competition hosted by my hall. Very fun and exciting. Sort of bonded many hallmates together. Today, i am still in contact with some of them, Eric, Xueni, Ka Jun, Zhiyou, Cedric and Cat. They changed my life too.
Of course, my life in NTU will be boring without my buddies, Edwyn and Gavin. Thanks to them, i took a different approach in life. We always go for late supper, chat till wee hours and our frequent trip to JB. ha... Kind of miss those days.
Oh yes, i also met "her" in school, courtesy of the orientation camp. I guess everything is fated. We were in SP previously, however, we were not in the same faculty, so din get to know her. 2 years later, we met and got together. I told jun we might have met in SP before, but did not know each other existence. ha... Fated!
As for studies, i am not as good as before. I guess my peak is over. Students here are more intelligent, capable and competitive. After going thru NTU, i love working even more. whahaha... Wat i meant was, i prefer work than to study. It has never change eversince i graduated. kekeke...
***
So, will i take up a post graduate degree in my future? Still not too sure yet. In the forseeable future, it is no. If i see a need to, it will be after 30. I think it is important to accumulate some working experiences before moving on. Going to bed now. 3 part series done. Yeah....

School Memories 2
Was msning Kenny aka big foot Cai this afternoon when i realised i omitted his name on the list of my primary school friends. whahaha... Sorry bro... He was one of the very few friends who was not in the same class as me. Anyway, i got to know him after our weekly house practice session. Had lots of fun then.
Shall continue on my school memories part 2 in this entry.
Junior College: NYJC
Had a short stint at NYJC for the first 3 months during provisional entry. Actually, i quitted once i got my O level results. I din really enjoy my stay there cos i dun feel like being part of the NYJC culture. I still remember i made a nasty comment on the college which shocked my GP tutor. Everything seemed ancient to me, old buildings, cannot-make-it canteen, worn out running tracks.
Over there, i managed to make a few good friends including Kin Jun. Whenever we hang out together (even till today), we will behave very differently. Uttering rubbish and things that do not make sense at all. If Weiqiang turns up, it will go out of control. ha... Golden Pillow, Xin Ah Lang Gu Shi... All kind of nonsensical talks.
Polytechnic: SP
Made up my mind to join SP after i left NYJC. This is another impt chapter in my life. I had a tough time in SP, courtesy of my classmates. Schoolwork was ok for me. ha.. Did very well in SP, however, the human to human relation was scary. Too much for a 17 yr old kid.
For the first time in life, got stabbed and betrayed by friends. We were very close during our first year, however, by our third year, some turned their back against us. I was very affected. Even within the small group that i always hang out with, pple get very emotional and vent their frustration on the innocent me.
Well, it is because of all these that i became very close with Ken. Many wondered why i became so close to him. For a simple reason, we weathered many storms together. He always provide advise and solution. Everyday while we took the same bus on our way home, we would evaluate the day situation.
Can you imagine? It's like planning for our next course of action. Something like a war game. Here are some of the strange things that both of us encountered.
1. There was once when we were doing a project. Initially, we were discussing happily, the next moment, one of our groupmates will walk away and ignore us. When u try to ask, no reply will come from her. Cold war for a few hours or even days. Ken and i will try to recall and evalutate wat we had said earlier. But till then, we cant determine anything. ha...
2. Whenever u talk to someone, this classmates of ours will not maintain an eye contact wif you. Instead she can look sideways and eavesdrop at others. It's damn scary. It's like multi tasking at the same time. I always ask ken to keep a look out in case when she is talking to another person, she will also eavesdrop our conversation.
3. In fact, she can also be very pretentious. She can tell u she did this and these. Then later, u realise she also did tat and those. Very scary. If u ask for help, they can siam and pretend not to know anything. In some worst scenario, they even backstab you. Trust betrayal.
These are only some of the few examples that i share. There are more than that. Well, it has been many years. I wonder how they are doing now. Lost contact with most of these pple. I guess it is a blessing in disguise.
Due to studies as well as the bad times i had, i had a new belief on boy girl relationship.
"ANY BOY GIRL RELATIONSHIP BELOW THE AGE OF 20 IS MOSTLY A FAILURE"
My belief for this still stands today. I welcome any form of challenge. I am prepared to defend it all the way. Never see one relationship that could last from then if a couple dated early. Well, maybe there are successful ones but i havent seen one. Most of them break out eventually. So am i not wrong? ha....
Other than Ken, i also get to know pple from other faculty and class, that includes Lilian, Joseph, Ron etc. We are still in contact today. Thanks to the China trip that bonded us together. They are so much lovelier. We always gossip n talk abt anything, from relationship to our future. This is the kind of pple i hope to meet in poly. But sad to say, my classmates were in this category.
***
I think it will be too long to talk abt university days. Shall KIV till next entry. ha.. Need to go grab some rest. Before that, i need to watch a TVB serial. hahaha... Xiu Cai Yu Dao Bing. Yes, my only form of leisure before i sleep.
Shall continue on my school memories part 2 in this entry.

School Memories 1
Met up with Ed and gang this evening for dinner. He is leaving for Thai very soon. This time, an entire factory will be put under his charge. Kind of impress by his capability. Me? Still performing operational task with little moola. Sometime, i am satisfied with the work i am doing, however, i cant help but feel disappointed with my miserable pay.
Anyway, we had a good talk and fun. We gossip abt many things, from our school days to our working days. This is the kind of luxury that i like to indulge. Getting a few friends out for dinner, then laugh at the stupid things that we used to do. Ha... I am inspired to write abt my school days. whahaha....
Kindegarten
Like many young Kids, i got into one of those kindergarten run by PAP. hahaha... That makes us an avid supporter of our ruling party. The school was in my void deck during those days when i lived in Toa Payoh. I dun really remember the uniform i wear, however, for sure, it is not the ones that we see now. I cant remember any of my little friends except kin jun? I am not even sure if we were in the same class. We only knew we studied there previously.
Primary School: Poi Ching
Yes, school has now relocated to Tampines. Those days, it was in Toa Payoh. The old building is still there but in a dilapidated state. Sometime when i pass by, it just bring me memories of my primary school days. I had many female friends. When every boy is playing with other boys, i always play with the girls. I remembered classmates calling me sissy or something.
Watever. I hated PE those days. Whenever PE started, i will find excuses to "siam". If i cant, i will pretend to play soccer or basketball. I HATED ball games. whahaha... Strange for a boy rite. So i ended up playing with the girls. Then when we grew older, rumours of me going steady with classmates became common.
Aiyoh, u share food with so and so. Must be her darling. OMG! During those days? Primary school kid? I simply enjoy the companies of girls lar. They are fun. That is why i wanted to go to a mixed sec school after leaving pri school. The only friend tat i am still in contact are Alvin and Fuming. Lost contact with all my "girl friends". whahaha
Secondary School: MJR
This is the part that i treasured most. Got to know my life time buddies hao and ying when i started my sec school. We used to hang out together very often. Back in those days, i was pretty nerdy. Study like a book worm. Work so hard to remain one of the top students in school.
I think i am abnormal. Many students opt to be in uniform group or some sports club. I will always choose to do the EASIEST ECA. whahaha... Ended up in computer club. The sicko me will laugh at the NPCC, NCC, Scouts who will be marching under the hot sun. Why? Cos i will be enjoying the cool n free aircon in the computer room. whahaha.... My hatred for PE continues. ha.
Once again, when PE starts, i will hide with my female classmates behind the technical block and chit chat. Funny rite. I usually grab a badminton racquet. Whenever the teacher walk pass, i will pretend to play. After he walk past, we will continue our gossips. ha... Damn funny. When everyone sweat like hell, i am clean and fresh. ha... That's me!
I must say i still keep in contact with many of my sec friends. Some are married, some are already parents! Due to work, i missed a couple of gatherings. Really miss them a lot. It's part of growing up, when girls become women, boys become men. ha...
***
This is going to be a long entry if i continue. Decide to do a part 2 in my next entry. Anyway, most pple go thru the same kind of system that i went thru. The difference, well, the pple we met. Shall continue in my next entry. Till then....

Olivia Lum
Ha... Dun get me wrong. She's not my gf. But i dun mind to be her god son. whahaha.... Hyflux is her brainchild. She is one of the most capable lady in Singapore, probably after Jenny Chua from Raffles Holdings and Mrs Lee from Temasek Holdings.
I wanted to head on to bed when i suddenly remembered a documentary on Olivia. I was inspired by her route to success. She was a poor student in Msia, with only 10 US dollars, she came to Singapore all alone. She strived very hard and made it. Her excellent results landed her a job with GSK. Wah...
As an ambitious person, she decides to strike it out on her own. I am amazed by the courage she had. She said, if that is ever an oppt, do not be afraid to take it up. Move forward and do the best out of it. There are lots of obstacles, but perseverence will pay off eventually.
I am so IMPRESSED. That sets me thinking. No matter how hard, i should give it a try to take a step forward. There might be setbacks, so take it with stride. It's hard. I know. If she can do it, why not me? ha... I will label her as my next idol. Miss Lum, any jobs for me?
