Back from Kingdom

I am finally back after a 4 day retreat to the kingdom. Yesh. This time is pretty amazing and fun. It is good to move out of the city into the more heartland of the country. Interesting as we travel ard the less touristy area. I must say Thais are getting rich. If the country continues to prosper, i am very sure they can be one of the best country in Southeast Asia.

Compare to the last trip that i went, which is 18 months ago, Bkk has indeed sprung up. Many new buildings, offices and even hotels. Roads are still jammed. I am surprise more Thais are able to communicate in English now. You dun even need to feel uneasy when you arrive in Bkk. I heard the BTS and subway are extending their lines to serve the suburbs. Excellent. The next time, you could just hope on BTS and will reach the city from the airport in a short time. No more traffic jams.

However, i spent quite a bit this time. Over the last few days, we had good food. Ha.. Not the usual roadside stalls. Instead, we went to restaurants and exp places to eat. Well, if you are to compare to Singapore, it is still cheaper. Nonetheless, the one that i like best is Talay Village, which is located near RCA. Pretty nice place, with live band and good performances. Food was NICE. Thanks to Ed and Amy.

We also went Chinatown for sharkfin. ha.. Well, the usual place for good food. The former WTC has been renamed as Central World. OMG! It was a super huge shopping centre, at least twice or thrice bigger than Vivocity. As for the outskirt, there was Esplanade, the same name as our Esplanade. Ha.... Its more like Compasspoint to me. Then there was Robinson, which reminded me of JB's Holiday Plaza. Its really outskirt cos i dun see much tourists.

We din go to any of the night market cos none of us is keen to buy pasar malam stuff. Neither did we go to Chatuchak. Ha.. Well, its hot and infested with our countrymen. You will meet many many Singaporeans in Chatuchak, which i hope to escape from. Ha... We opted to go to the suburbs instead. More peaceful and more thais. hahahaha...

We spent most of our nite at many clubbing places. Ed said he had brought us to almost the entire clubbing scene of BKK. Whooo......... There was nice. Ha.. I must say its good and revitalising. Different and indeed exotic from the usual club we had in Singapore. The clubs played nice songs and put up good shows. Kinda of fun. Had black label for 2 nights. We still have a bottle there. If anyone needs to club in BKK, let me know and we can finish the bottle! whahahha....

Holiday season is finally over. It is time to face reality again. Will be resting for 2 days before i head to work. I hope i am fully charge till the end of the year.
